Forums - Gaming - MW 2. Is It Just Me.........

Give me a good soundtrack (Hans Zimmer for the fricking win!!), kickass unexpected moments and the return of a certain character that I won't spoil to anyone and you get easy GOTY material! Yes, I said it. The last couple of missions are simply fantastic.

Veteran is more manageable in this game compared to the previous ones using the COD4 engine. There's no more grenade spamming, you can take a lot more shoots before dying, there are no random dudes waiting for you around corners (at least a lot less of them), etc.. I finished it in one night compared to two days for COD4 which pissed the shit out of me. I wouldn't be scared to retry this game on Veteran again! And your AI companions actually help you (though they do leave a few guys behind still... but they can rush to the enemies now).

I thought WaW was better in every way than CoD4 and I didn't expect much from Infinity Ward (you know the term, same shit different game). It doesn't really apply here. They added so many extra stuff and tweaks that I'm ashamed to have doubted them.

Give the game a chance. Hornet's Nest is really the worse mission in the game, especially on Veteran. Actually, I thought Hornet's Nest was the first part of this two set of missions. The first one is the boring one. The rest is a cakewalk!

Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Wow, I'm surprised. I guess I'm alone in thinking that the MW2 campaign was better than the first.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,

do u think it the gameplay thats boring reask?
maybe if they added blind fire taking cover rolls dives from cover to cover like the AI and even squad mates do would that make it less boring for u i think it would for me

this FPS gameplay is pretty dated they need to change it up soon and add stuff like they did with tps this gen mirrors edge took a risk in the fps genre i want to see more risks from other games

hope so im about to get mw2 just bought  cod4 its campaign is pretty good kinda shocked with the game didnt think i would like it surprised to see how they implemented using cover atleast for the harder difficulties and the amount of cover available in each location though it would be more run and gun which is not my taste

Oh yeah, I agree about the dated gameplay. Still, the scripted events are well made and adds variety to a somewhat outdated style of FPS gameplay.

If you want my opinion, they better work on the AI first thing when they start working on a new engine. They're quite lacking in animations and are still annoying when they do little things like pushing you out of cover and stuff.

I wasnt really using the hornets nest mission as an example shmup.

That is just where I am atm.

Look I am genuinley not trying to rain on anybodys parade here.

I just feel the whole thing is lacking something.

I am genuinley sorry if that is annoying some folks but in all fairness this is only my opinion.

I mean you can smell the money that was spent on this but I just dont think it lives up to expectations.

I found earlier COD games much more challenging.

And who knows I may be setting myself up here for a big fall as I have a long way to go yet.

I just find it to scripted for the want of a better word. Sorry.

I'm not gonna dig it up, but I think somebody made this thread the day MW2 launched.

If I could trade in the single-player campaign and MP, and keep the Spec Ops, I would, but unfortunately I can't. If I want MP, the original is just as good. The single player campaign in MW2 is way below the standard set in COD4. I have really loved the Spec Ops though, but nowhere near as good overall as COD4.

Sadly man, I believe the CoD games will get more and more scripted from now on. They kind of play like movies now, less like games. I personally don't hate this at all (I'm a big fan of the Metal Gear series, haha), and it's all part of the creative and artistic mind of video game development IMO.
