Give me a good soundtrack (Hans Zimmer for the fricking win!!), kickass unexpected moments and the return of a certain character that I won't spoil to anyone and you get easy GOTY material! Yes, I said it. The last couple of missions are simply fantastic.
Veteran is more manageable in this game compared to the previous ones using the COD4 engine. There's no more grenade spamming, you can take a lot more shoots before dying, there are no random dudes waiting for you around corners (at least a lot less of them), etc.. I finished it in one night compared to two days for COD4 which pissed the shit out of me. I wouldn't be scared to retry this game on Veteran again! And your AI companions actually help you (though they do leave a few guys behind still... but they can rush to the enemies now).
I thought WaW was better in every way than CoD4 and I didn't expect much from Infinity Ward (you know the term, same shit different game). It doesn't really apply here. They added so many extra stuff and tweaks that I'm ashamed to have doubted them.
Give the game a chance. Hornet's Nest is really the worse mission in the game, especially on Veteran. The rest is a cakewalk!

I wasnt really using the hornets nest mission as an example shmup.
That is just where I am atm.
Look I am genuinley not trying to rain on anybodys parade here.
I just feel the whole thing is lacking something.
I am genuinley sorry if that is annoying some folks but in all fairness this is only my opinion.
I mean you can smell the money that was spent on this but I just dont think it lives up to expectations.
I found earlier COD games much more challenging.
And who knows I may be setting myself up here for a big fall as I have a long way to go yet.
I just find it to scripted for the want of a better word. Sorry.
