I saw this and I started laughing.

(The above makes fun of the NYT reviewer who claimed Beatles: Rock Band "may be the most important video game yet made." Mike from Morgantown |
Ouch.
He ripped that NY Times writer a new one.

It is damn near impossible to beat the game with 3 other people, I farmed lives and by the time I finished playing, I was down to 27 levels from 80 something. Most of my deaths were from moronic butt hat nimrod team mates, that at first say sorry sorry then don't even apologize anymore. just play by yourself in the dark, it's the way Mario is meant to be played. The co-op mode is not co-op at all. |
I beat the game with a team kinda like that, did it take longer? Yes. Did we miss a lot of stuff? Yes. Was it a hell of a lot of fun along the way? HELL YES! Seriously the multiplayer isn't meant to be productive more or less, its like who can be a dick but still make it to the end, its just good times with friends.

Heck I don't but my uncle can never stop talking about his Amiga and Commodore64. He even brought up Tank Battle as an amazing game saying it redefined a generation. I admit it was a good game but for those people who grew up playing Pong they still think that was an amazing game, its all perspective! |
Ohm sorry, my post was meant to be a reply to Soap_McTavish, but I forgot to quote.
I do agree with most of your post, except for the part about "Nintendo not cathering to 'us'". Sure they're trying to reach a new audience, but there are still lots of games with the "traditional" values of the NES or SNES era or the arcades, probably more than we've seen on any other console for the last few generations. I mean, we're getting as many marios as the NES had, and they're top quality. We're gonna get another Zelda and two metroid games, and plenty of classic franchises or one hit wonders have ressurged, like the Excit insert_veicle, Punch Out or Sin and Punishment. Sure it lacks a bit on new IPs but some are coming and some old IPs are being approached on a different way.
