Forums - Gaming - Braid got an 85 on ps3 vs 88 on 360/PC via IGN

IGN gave God of War a 9.8 and God of War 2 a 9.7, but only gave the God of War Collection a 9.4. Seems to support the older game theory.

IGN gave both the PC and 360 versions of Braid a 8.8, even though the PC version is a late "port". I don't think the 8.5 for the PS3 version is IGN bias, I think it is more to do with IGN incompetence.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

Braid came out later on PS3 right?

There is your answer?

Is Resistance 1 came out today on 360 would it be rated as high as it is on PS3?

The PSN version is exactly the same as the XBL version? I guess the exclusive content policy for late ports only applies for retail games then. It makes sense though. Retail games drop in price after awhile. So in order to compensate for that, you need to offer extras to justify a $60 price tag for a year old game. However, XBL games don't devalue in price like retail games do. Braid and Castle Crashers are still $15.

Maybe the rule just doesn't apply to games that the PSN management turns down flat and then get released on a competitor's network and finds success, now allowing the game to finally show up on the network. That's what happened with Braid. It was offered up to the folks at PSN and was rejected originally.

Or it only applies to people who Sony think they can get extra content out of... and doesn't to anybody else.

I mean... say Final Fantasy XIII got delayed in the west... or some other similarly big game.

Like say Modern Warfare 3 is announced it has to come out later on PS3.

I don't see Sony making a big deal.

I think if it would be a new release (without the PS3 version existing), it probably would be close. I think graphics plays less of a factor with regard to that game scoring 86% on average as there were better looking games available at the time. IMO Resistance: Fall of Man to this day remains a solid FPS.

An exactly identical version would of course not be possible as the game for example includes great 7.1 audio the 360 simply isn't capable of supporting. I think some early PS3 games would potentially even have scored better on the 360, like the Motorstorm games (even with slighty downgraded graphics, controls and audio).

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

PS3 vs 360 sales

When the developer was talking about the game at nordic game jam. He said the reason he was making it for the xbox and not the ps3 was because it was a lot of work porting it to the ps3 or something.

Anyways I tried the pc demo and didn't like it.. So it's not a game for me.

EDIT: allow me to elaborate. He said the work and the funds were an issue since it wasn't a direct port like 360 from pc was. If i recall correctly.

Check out my game about moles ^

It got the MW:R treatment

Man i hate when this happens...its practically a biased action

Braid should have a higher score on the PS3.

And imo, a higher score on the 360, too.

Braid should get same scores if its come 2 a new audience
