Forums - Microsoft - Rumor: Alan Wake launches in May

http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/13/report-alan-wake-stops-snoozing-may-2010/

Alan Wake will allegedly premiere in late May of next year on Xbox 360. MCV reports that "a source close to the game" gave the new release date and suggested that the title would be promoted "in the style of a Hollywood movie."

Officially, we know that Wake's drawn out development will conclude in "Spring 2010" -- around the 5-year mark. We've also previously been told that the game has been done since August and is in hibernation being polished over and over again. We've followed up with Remedy and Microsoft to see if either would like to confirm today's reported release date.

Awesome, get this game out!

Given the new videos of the game, I can only see its launch coming closer. The new vids at GT were fantastic, and my girlfriend is now forcing a buy on AW. Can't wait.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I hope not, at least by March come on Remedy we've been waiting forever!!

At least we heard a while back it was done and is just being polished so we know it isn't gonna be rushed on release, but damn May is way too far for me...

I'm really digging the atmosphere of Alan Wake.

The May release sounds good to me. Will give them time to iron out the LOD pop-in, and the awful screen tearing. =)

I really doubt even Remedy knows when the game's going to be released - oh, wait, it'll be released when it's ready.

And that's not to say the game is bad. In fact, I believe it's going to be an AAA title. The lack of PC version (and I'm not sure if I even believe that) just makes it harder for me to be interested in it. It's just Remedy's style to finish the game and then release it.

I would prefer March or April. In late May sales are slowing down a bit.

Still I expect over 3 million lifetime sales for Alan Wake. It looks so damn good.
