Forums - Sales - FFCC: The Crystal Bearers sells 26,000 copies on day 1.

I kinda expected this, the game isn't even an rpg. Anyways this is bad news for 3rd party games on wii. Hopefully this will sell better in the west.

Around the Network

'Closer to 5k according to MediaCreate.  But it's moved almost a million units already, that's more than any hardcore HD game so far... if Wii can't sell hardcore games, what's that say for the HD twins?'.

MH is one of the biggest games in Japan these days, and 1m on a user base of 9 mil isn't very impressive.

Clearly even fewer of those 9 mil are remotely interested in FF CC.

PSN - hanafuda

What a bomb.

Ah well, I'll have my copy on 12/26! The west will save it and make it a million seller.

Nice analisis trestres, ironically their best selling console game in this generation is a shitty Dragon Quest spin-off for Wii, they lost all momentum with the platform and unfortunately the platform in itself. If that game were released today I'm sure it would have sold poorly.

hanafuda never disappoints us :p

Oh wow, that was lower than I expected. Thought it would crack 100k first week but that seems unlikely. Shame, game looks so inspired but I guess changing it up scared the FFCC audience off.

What FFCC audience? I mean that seriously: the series started out as a mini-MMO. Since then, it has seen installments in the JRPG genre, the city-building sim genre, the tower defense genre, and now the...whatever-Crystal-Bearers-is genre. I'd say fans of the series have come to expect total curveballs from Crystal Chronicles.

And I just realized I didn't state my position explicitly. 26k for this game is pretty bad. Not as bad as I thought it'd be, but still bad. It probably didn't help that Final Fantasy Gaiden was released very recently, either.

lower than the gc version....OUCH

but people saying BOMB, go to a dictionary & check what the word means before calling thhe game a bomb

VEry disappointing sales, but not a bomb

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Seems like my prediction for the game will be pretty accurate

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

Definitely for sure.  This game really should have gotten better sales on its opening day, but it's far from a failure so far.  Whether its first week sales will go any higher than this or even achieve the "longtail" effect remains to be seen.

No it's not, Arkham Asylum is.

Not in Japan.  Arkham Asylum doesn't release there until January.
