ps3 browser it's better than opera for the wii

also ps3 browser it's from a company called ACCESS they bought.

I use it to watch trailers etc on my TV because it's slightly less hassle then connecting my laptop to the TV. Never had a crashing problem.

As I have a Phat I am still planning on trying to install a Linux distro and then use firefox to browse the net on my TV. Once I've put a 160 Gig HDD into it.

But yes, the browser is suckful and I think they could have easily done better on this front at zero extra cost.

I'll agree to disagree :). Opera is always in dev and it has great CSS compliance. A browser is a complex application and I can't see Sony putting resources towards a browser like Mozilla and Opera do. And when you use the PS3 browser, it shows, sorry.

It's better then not having a browser, it works just a bit slow, it's great for just checking out tips for games right quick. I watch a lot of Anime on it to. It's been very nice to me lately.

But I'd never come to VG Chartz with it, way to slow, and it's difficult to post something.

as its right now PS3 browser it's better. than the one in the wii. it can have more pages open at the same time. and it got faster when they started using spus.

and of course, a PC browser will always be better.

I am using it when my wife is using laptop. It difficult to browse any heavy-flashed sites as vgchartz. HD video also a problem. Still better then nothing.

flash it's slow, it's only optimized for windows platform. it slow on linux unless you got core 2 duo processor. 2mb cache.

i gotten better in ubuntu 9.10 still slow, i imagine for Cell single ppu it's slow, sadly i bet it doesn't use a single spu.

of course it can be done but code have to be written for it.

Yes undoubtedly. The ps3's browser is actually pretty good, i dont think you can expect better. Another quite frankly bizarre thread. And i again question the thread starters motivations.
