"Impressions are not fact"
Okay, I used the wrong term. People who played through the game. They said it wasn't anything that far ahead of RE4.
"size of maps and lack of loading"
Obviously you aren't considering streaming. Even RE4 used that.
Basically your comments show you just look at what's there, not the specifics of how it's working.
"It is not on Wii. There is the hate"
No, some put downs were from people who didn't like the Wii, such as Zero Punctuation and X-Play.

Sales aren't always a clear indicator of preference, and RE4 had a staggered launch (while RE5 was day one multi). RE4 was far, far better reviewed and won far, far more awards though. I'd also ague RE5 had a lot of upfront goodwill on the back of RE4's reputation.
I like RE5, even more than RE4 in co-op, but I definitely feel like I'm in the minority...
don't forget guys that RE4 had pre-rendered backgrounds (it only looks like theres a lot of polygons), while its all 3D models in RE5. Even tough its 3D models in the south America part of RE:DC, you can't roam around like in RE4/5 which means much smaller map.
We already more or less have a rough example how things might turn out if theres a port, just look at Modern Warfare: Reflex vs Modern Warfare 1.
| KylieDog said: Also, "Enemy count, enemy AI (on harder difficulties), size of maps and lack of loading on them not to mention how complex and detailed they are all at once, partner AI, Co-op online, co-op splitscreen, other online modes, the visuals and the fact that there are many small alterations to gameplay then when come together give the game and entirely different feel to RE4, and I am not talking story or atmosphere. The gameplay is almost completely smooth free flowing with no interuptions." ALL of these AT ONCE. Even if the Wii managed 1 or 2, it isn't going to do them all, and it really isn't going to combine them. I won't repeat what I said a third time. |
But you repeated a point I just debunked. So you didn't read my comment, and are just giving broad claims and assumptions, with this further assumptions those make the game "great", while most of us know them for bells and whistles.

You didn't debunk anything, you picked one small part of what I wrote and tried to counter it, yet if you quoted the entire thing what you said holds no weight, which is why I posted the entire thing again.
Unless you think "streaming" solves everything. |
It was the fact that you didn't evey try to counter my comment when mentioning it. You've only done it now, after I called you on it. As for the other things, AI isn't on the scale of Dead Rising. How complex and detailed they are does require streaming to have all that in a large area, and those areas are linear, because they would have to be at GTA level if you had free exploration. I've given the co-op, as that's the best reason I've found it's not on the Wii yet, but unless the guy was lying, which you more or less accused him of, it can be done. Visuals are more detailed, but the art direction did that, which DC proved is workable on the Wii. And claiming it has a different feel is just your word against all the other players who claim it's just a prettier RE4.
You don't have to play it when it comes to the Wii. Just stop lying that it can't be done (and are heding with qualifiers that you are still lying are objective, not just your opinion).

Bad example, MW on a technical level is rather poor and nowhere near RE5. |
Top end wrong but bottom end, its still on the Wii
| LordTheNightKnight said: Again, I can't have spoken it. This isn't a verbal discussion. It seems you aren't even thinking about what you are typing, just repeating stock arguments thinking they are valid. It doesn't matter if I played it. Even before I got a chance to try it out, all impressions at launch time were that was what it was like, whether it was from those that liked it or hated it (as opposed to some games getting different impressions depending on those). So unless you are going to call every other gamer who played it a liar, it's not really that more advanced than RE4. The biggest issue is the co-op, but even that can be done with some work. |
You can't be serious. This must mean that I have to love games like Crysis and Bioshock since they have such stellar reviews and have recieved so much praise? No, those two and F.E.A.R are the biggest letdowns in recent times for me and show that you really do need to try something to form an opinion. I'll surely remember this the next time someone says they're not going to buy a Wii game because someone told them it wasn't any good and the Vgchartz Wii-corps attack head on and tell them how childish they are (a lot of people in here claim that games suck without having played them and this is always and instantly shot down as a useless form of argument). Having differences in opinion is one thing but I didn't expect this from a senior user tbh.
PS: Yes, I've played both RE:4 and RE:5 extensively and they are not the same on a technical scale at all. And lol at the notion that RE:5 controls are vastly inferior to RE:4 on Wii, that's just not true and highly subjective, the controls of RE:5 on the 360 are superb (imo of course, just as valid as anyone else's opinion regardless) and the only gripes I have with them is rather a problem with the game mechanics themselves (can't move and shoot is a no-no for me).

lol, no. Lighting's even more impressive in MW and the fact that it's all at 60 fps is just draw dropping.
Its funny how they said the Wii version couldn't even run the title screen and now its possible for the game to be released on the Wii.
