Forums - Nintendo - What other games can Nintendo produce to sell over 10 million for Wii?

Starfox, if designed off the SNES and N64 game and is focused on it's core gameplay.

StarFox has never reached anywhere near 10-million copies. I would say Donkey Kong but JungleBeat with New controls included has just barely gone over the million mark. Sure the country series sold well but could a new Donkey Kong actually reach over 10-million copies? doubtful. Actually I don't think their is a single franchise Nintendo has yet to develope on Wii that has the power to sell 10-million copies except of course the obvious Pokemon.

I think Nintendo's Vitality Sensor game could make 10-million copies and if Nintendo created more SuperSmashBros like franchises. Like Nintendo FootBall with Link , Samus and Donkey Kong all playable alongside Mario and the bros.

Also other pointed out Nintendogs, its a possibility. But Nintendo has already used up most of its ten plus million sellers!

Wii Fit, Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort are where the broadened audience came from. No where else is the audience that broad. The core and the casuals will both pick up key 1st party (obviously) but when you think about it outside of Wii Fit, Sports and Resort, its not that broad.

Listen the next huge game release from Nintendo will be Wii Vitality and trust me, it'll be another 10 million + seller.

I've been thinking of writing a nice article on why I think that's the case, I'll get to it soon :P

Perhaps a content rich Wii Music, that is a intuitive as Mario Paint, including using that game's music editor.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

i think star fox can easily push hardware sales for the hardcore fans

Wii Paint.

"Now, a fun game should always be easy to understand - you should be able to take one look at it and know what you have to do straight away. It should be so well constructed that you can tell at a glance what your goal is and, even if you don’t succeed, you’ll blame yourself rather than the game. Moreover, the people standing around watching the game have also got to be able to enjoy it." - Shiggy

what about.... Star Fox, Pikmin, F-zero, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Luigi Game, Wii Sports Online, Wii play 2 online.....

If you´re talking about Wii I agree about a "true Pokemon" game being huge but I see it doing better in 2d saleswise. Besides this one I think Nintendo could try to achieve another new casual title that will reach the massmarket like the Wiiseries. It´s hard to do but Nintendo are masters of this. Perhaps something with the new Vitality Sensor? (I know it looks stupid and like a gimmick but you never know with Nintendo)

For DS i believe Pokemon HG/SS has a nice shot. It´s almost at 3 million in Japan alone. Tomodachi Collection is a phenomena in Japan and I truly think this game could be huge if it´s released overseas as well. 10 million like Animal Crossing WW is possible for that one if all goes well.

None of those franchises have a track record of breaking the ten million mark, except maybe WiiSportsOnline and WiiPlay2. Though i think WiiPlay sold fairly well do to the shortage of WiiMotes after the Wii initially launched!

As for the Vitality sensor, I agree with Puffy. Nintendo will create another Wii franchise title that utalizes the vitality sensor and people are going to eat it up. I'd say 10-mill will be easy for such a title.
