I'm bored so that means I'm gonna do a top 7 things list but in no particular order. This focuses on the things that annoy me (and me only) feel free to do your own list.

1:Is this game 1080? "No?" Then it's gonna suck!

 I don't get the recent obsession with 1080 p/i (I don't even know the difference.) People are so hung up on this that potentially good games get over looked, discredited or incorrectly hyped just because it looks like Angelina Jolie's Lovebox. Why are people basing their hype metre on how pretty a game looks? Yes I am aware that since it's only the previews, you can only judge on graphics but what about innovations? Attempting new things that push the boundaries in gameplay and experience? We are in HD territory now and supposedly everything should look life-like or gtfo, but surely that shouldn't be the case, what happened to the good old days (lulz I sound old) when people played games because they had interesting mechanics and weren't just eye candy disgusing a game of rock-paper-sicssors?

What really makes me sick now-a-days is the amount of websites who do graphical comparisons on identical screenshots and say one sucks and the other is being in the company of God him/herself. I guess the first instinct is to point out I'm a ps3 fan and I'm just butt-hurt because ps3 always lose the comparisons.

Butt-hurt? No, confused yes. the two pictures are exactly the same save for a colour somewhere looking out of place yet some folks do a song and dance as if one shot is of stick figures and the other is of some guy in real life walking down the street. Surely if you're being hunted down by a zombie/axe murderer etc etc, the last thing you are gonna notice is a slightly off colour tree right? Exactly how does this hamper the gameplay? IMO? If it does? You are not doing it right!

2:Lulz this game didn't sell 1mil in its first day, therefore, it sucks!!

Disclaimer: I know this is a website about numbers and so on as a result should not complain about people talking about numbers HOWEVER It's (in my opinion) getting ridiculous in a few places in and outside of here.

Way I see it, there are only 2 scenarios where a game should sell 1 million in its first week.

1: Very popular brand name

Mircosoft: So uhh...we're gonna make a new Halo game.

1 million Halo Fans: Say no more, where do I  pre-order?

Microsoft: But I haven't told you what it's gonna be about...

Halo Fans: Don't sweat it, So far, Halo games have been awesome and we are confident you can pull it out of the bag again.

Microsoft: Really?

Halo Fans: Yup, Now make us proud Microsoft!

Microsoft: Sweet!

Bungie: ¬_¬

2: A very good game deserving of its just rewards.

Naughty Dog: Right...the first Uncharted was not bad but we think we can do better.

Gaming Journalists: Go ahead, prove it.

People should only expect million sellers under those 2 circumstances not for every single game that comes out, it bugs me when developer upstart (aka, 2 guys in a pub) make a reasonably good game and people call it crap just because it didn't reach 1 million mark. STOP IT!!

(I wonder how many people will post TL:DR or something similar in this thread or even read it at all)

3:My console is so awesome, it makes your console look unawesome!

This usually only happens between the fanboys of the HD twins and in my opinion? It's really sad and facepalm word therefore it needs to stop, if your console is so awesome, why do you feel the need to go to the forums of the other ones just to wave your penis console around? If you have to do it, then clearly yours is not as good as you claim because you should be playing the games on your wonderful console, not being a  penis prick!

4:See this new game coming out? "Yeah" it's coming out on the 360!! "And?" The 360!!

This is probably just me who sees this but it seems when ever a multiplat game gets previewed, the are quick to mention its 360 status but then have the pc and ps3 (or anything else for that matter) as an afterthought. I understand that the medias I go to to get my news are american and 360 is the main market in America so in order to appeal to the mass you need to cater to the mass...THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD FORGET THE MINORITY!!!

From my understanding, this isn't new and supposedly it happened in the ps2/xbox/GC days as well, I hated it then I still hate it now. Allow me to explain my main gripe with this. Ubisoft's "I am Alive" when I first heard of this game was during a "where are they now" feature done by the website GAME.co.uk on games that were considered dead in the water but are suddenly back in the public's eye. they featured I am alive and pretty much the entire article mention the 360 and nothing else, leading me to believe that it was a 360 exclusive. So I think nothing about it, a couple of months later, I see another article on same game but on Eurogamer, it also talks about it as if it were a 360 exclusive and nothing else, I was interested in the game because I thought it was an interesting concept but as I lack a 360...I saw no further reason to pursue interest until I saw a youtube trailer that told me it was also on ps3 as well.

I get majority of my stuff from podcasts Gametrailers send to me, in defence of Gametrailers, they always post what consoles the game is coming on on their website, however, they don't do the same for the podcasts, they just assume you know, I recently recieved their preview for Dark Void and the entire preview (as well as a high amount of their multi-plat previews) has nothing but "360" buttons which in my opinion tells me the game is 360 only. I understand that sometimes they only get 360 version of games to review and what not but a greater effort to highlight multiple platforms wouldn't go amiss.

I guess this is the part where some smart ass will tell me to buy a 360 and quit whining, to which I reply, if the tables were turned, would you get a ps3?

5: So...what about the EU Sony? "The what?" You know, that place that isn't N/A or Jp that you class as 'the rest of the world?' "Oh you mean 'the afterthought!!"

I'm a playstation fan through and through however Sony once in a while annoy me. Admittedly it's not always their fault, too many countries to please and so little time to do it in HOWEVER Sometimes it comes across as if they ask "what's the use?!" when it comes to some decisions. e.g When it was time to release Silent on the psOne classic section of the psn, Sony accidentally released the N/A version of the game, a simple mistake I grant you so they decide to take it down and replace it with the correct one...That was months ago, where's Silent Hill I ask? The answer, "Nowhere to be seen!" Speaking of classics, one reason I glare daggers at Americans for begrudging EU for allegedly getting Vagrant Story (not believing it till it appears on the store) is Vagrant Story if it turns up will be just a blip in an otherwise shitty radar, my proof? Well our last 3 "classics" have been Antz, The Little Mermaid and Winnie the Pooh...Should I say anymore...?

6:When in doubt, shoe-horn a multiplayer/co-op.

Some Random guy with an idea for a game: I have this wonderful idea for a game.

Exec dude: Right...go for it.

Random Guy: You play a guy trapped in a maze, he is alone, by himself in a world filled with devilish creatures, he has to literally fight his way through hell to get out.

Exec Dude: Devilish, got it-

Random Guy: To show his struggle, we won't give him weapons to defend himself, instead, the emphasis is on cunning and trying to avoid contact with these creatures -

Exec Dude: Yeah, I got it, you know what this idea needs? Multiplayer co-op...

Random Guy: I'm sorry what?

Exec Dude: Think about it, what a better way to spend an evening than playing with friends?

Random Guy: How's that gonna be possible? He's alone...by himself...?

Exec Dude: Sure, then we'll give him some friends, a hot female wearing little to nothing, a big black dude who swears a lot, a kick ass white dude and uhh...maybe a comic relief.

Random Guy: But the game is meant to signify his internal struggle and his lonliness-

Exec Dude: Internal- Grow a pair, this isn't a fucking chick flick, oh and give them guns, really big guns make sure they are wearing space armours 'cause you know, space armours are cool, we'll turn it into a first person shooter, it'll be awesome!

Random Guy: But-

Exec Dude: Excellent work dude, keep it up! Good hustle.

See what I mean? (no idea what's gone wrong with the colour) There are some games where a multiplayer should not be shoe horned in, Gametrailers are now marking down games that have always been singleplayer for not having Multiplayer, wtf?! I once saw someone on here, having a hissy because they said GoW3 won't have any form of multiplayer WTF?! LEAVE MY SINGLE PLAYER GAMES ALONE!!!!

7:"Where's my cheat code?" You mean your trophy/achievement? "No I mean my cheat codes" uhhh...I dunno what you mean but here's a booster pack for the amazing price of $40!!

I'm gonna make this one quick...EA You have gone down in my estimation, you lose everything ¬_¬

I see the gripe's you have and I know other's have those very same gripe's.

My few real gripe's would be:

many people have it seem's to be about the contest this generation instead of about the game's.

like "well this game is so much better than that game"
to me It's about playing each game and see what kind of experience that game offer's. For me I do not need to take one game v's another game. to me it's moot because they off a experience unique to each game. and that is the point to have fun.

I find it funny because there are only 3 game system companies in the race 4 if you count the PC. Wow I came in fourth..please let me crawl over and swim in a smaller pile of million's vs the other 2 that have a little bit bigger pile of million's. it get's kind of silly

it should be about the Entertainment, unless causing trouble is your entertainment, and to me if causing trouble is your entertainment you have way too much time on your hand's

Joe I agree with you actually, my game is better than your game is also another gripe of mine.

I just don't get that need to do it:

Both game's are not going to be the same game so why on earth try to!

if every game has the same function's that would be very static, to me and for some game's i have played some function's would ruin its core experience In my Opinion.

example:

this game does not have  MP Co-op, but so and so developer was able to include it into their game, why not them, those developer's are lazy! 

I can see people have their own Opinion on game's, but it get's kind of lame when review site's ding a game now based on if the game does not have a function that they think the game should have..my gripe is the review player did not make the d@mn game, the developer did and maybe just maybe the developer want his game that way.

I can see the reviewer's have their own opinion on game's but I tend to tryout the game for my self over some review.

I mean what's the freakin point if every D@MN FPS, OR RPG OR SPORT'S GAME or any Game for that matter HAS THE VERY SAME FUNCTION'S. To me I am glad the experience across game's are not the same, because If they were the game industry would be very dull

Too many first person shooters it seems but then again in defence of the developers...they are popular...

to me there is only so much can take of anyone type before the game's start to burn you out as a gamer. but I have seen the gamer keep plugging away at the same type of game and they alway's seem to feel, the need that the "last game i played was way better than this game"

when maybe just maybe:

they should switch the type of game they play for a while:

example :

for me i play quite a bit of RPG's "that is when i can play some game's on my free time"

but to keep getting burned out I may switch over to play, some RTS, OR FLIGHT SIMULATOR for a while, or even a sports game or two, and I find that it helps with viewing the unique experience of each game instead of just seem's to be the same ol' same ol' where every game in its type seem's to run together
