Only the 360 version of Modern Warfare 2 has a chance of selling over 3 million copies for its first week. Modern Warfare 2 for PS3 at best will sell 2 million copies in its first week.

If the PS3 version sells 3 million in its first week, the 360 version will sell 4.5 million to 5 million in its first week.

In the UK and US both versions of the 360 sales far exceed the PS3 sales for this game. Far more 360 copies were ordered in to meet demand from gamers. UK and US the 360 has a huge sales gap over the PS3 in regards to the install bases. 360 is seen by most people in these two countries as being the superior console system for FPS games due to the 360 controller is favoured over the PS3 controller and XBox Live is far more popular than PSN. The sales in US will favour the 360 over PS3 2 to 1 ratio. European region would be favoruing the PS3 by about 4 to 3.

So all up the 360 version will have outsold the PS3 version by 3 to 2 for its first week sales. Previous sales trends for FPS games seriously favour the 360 version over the PS3 version.

What a pointless thread. At least use reasons to back up your thoughts. No, it won't do 3 million. It will do a million easily, maybe 1.5, but no more than that. 360 version should do about 3 million at the very least. 3.5 to 4 and beyond is even possible at this point.

This prediction is oddly reminiscent of those predictions that gave Uncharted 2 an outside chance of selling 1.5 million by the end of 2009. And we all know what happened to those predicitons: Totally blown away

I'm looking at 1.5 million as a low end figure for PS3.  The only way PS3 sales lowball for MW2 is if a lot of potential PS3 buyers (who don't own a 360) somehow think it's a 360 exclusive. The way 360 is supporting it, esp in America, that is a possible spoiler for PS3 sales. But I think it is unlikely to have a significant effect.

Jesus Christ, he made a prediction of what the PS3 version would sell, which doesn't sound TOO farfetched given that GTAIV sold 2.55million first week.  He said NOTHING about the 360 version selling less.  Yet you went to great lengths to show that the 360 version would sell more.
