Forums - Nintendo - Pixmania declares Wiimote endangered in 2010

Do these people even think shit through when they write this stuff? Wii is still selling very strong and Wii Motion + is just getting started.. I can't wait until 2011 when the console is still selling strong, just so all these fools can finally be proven wrong. Of course then they will be saying Wii will be doomed in 2012.. though at least by then they might actually be right! :)

Out of this list only 2, 3, & 4 make sense.

2 makes sense because faxes can easily be replaced by scan/e-mail, however in America a lot of businesses still use faxes daily. I don't know if they are used as much in Europe.

3 is highly probable. In America we already forced (or at least did, then delayed) all analogue transmissions off the air. For bandwidth reasons, it makes sense for cable companies to switch to digital.

4 could happen too, in Europe, due to poor phone infrastructure and a much stronger mobile phone market. However, the older generation will hold on to technology they are familiar with, which as always extends the life of a technology much longer than makes sense.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

How the hell are you going to be able to drive while trying to manipulate your iphone to tell you directions?

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

2010’s most endangered technologies:

1. DVD players

2. Fax machine

3. Analogue TV

4. The landline phone

5. Mobile phone charger

6. Wii-mote

7. Sat Navs

8. Dongle

9. The computer mouse

10. Chip and pin credit cards

So their list of "endangered technologies" next year includes the video format with the highest marketshare by far, the default controller for the video game console with the highest marketshare by far, and the most widely-used control scheme for millions upon millions of PCs around the world? This list is either an elaborate troll or the product of someone incredibly ignorant.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

DISAPPEAR FROM STOCK SHELVES????
Seriously? DISAPPEAR FROM STOCK SHELVES????

I mean, the idea that the Natal MIGHT somehow hurt traditional motion controllers after its release is one thing, but completely DISAPPEAR FROM STOCK SHELVES????

So apparently, when the Natal is released in late 2010, Sony and Nintendo must discontinue their current console generation, and release their own non-controller motion cameras , in a matter of weeks/months? Or the xbox 360/Natal will suddenly sell 100% market share, so the competitors will DISAPPEAR FROM STOCK SHELVES????

I feel dumber each time after writing that, but seriously, DISAPPEAR FROM FUCKING STOCK SHELVES????

This list is by Pixmania from an article from the London (UK) Daily Telegraph. I posted it because I thought it was so absurd. And from what I can tell, the "largest electronics retalier in Europe" does not appear too impressive (it is half the size of Game Group according to Wikipedia).
