anyone know a good video/ web document etc that can provide me with the entire metal gear storyline, I dont wanna buy and play all the games, just wanna get in on the story so I can eventually play mgs4 and get the story

If you have a PS3, you can download the MGS Database. It will explain EVERYTHING except stuff that's specific or wasn't answered/revealed until MGS4. It won't give you anything on MGS4 until you unlock that info with a completed save file of the game.

Wikipedia, but I highly recommend playing it. I was in your shoes a year ago until I found MGS essential collection (1,2 and 3) and figured I'd buy it. I didn't like the whole idea of a stealth game I just wanted to play MGS4 because of the graphics hype behind it. But anyway I'm extremely glad I played it, it's in my top three best series by far, and the story is probably the most important thing about MGS, you have to play 1 2 and 3 to have the most epic experience with 4, and I mean EPIC, but you have to play the other three for it to be so great.

You could read the summaries and everything but it won't effect you emotionally at all, if you play the game it'll be like Hideo is playing with your emotions, you'll laugh, cry, get angry, feel sad, it's definitely an experience you can't miss out on. Especially MGS3.

You have to Xxperience not only the story...but game as a whole to truly understand MGS ..if you think reading Wiki on 1 - 3 then jumpin to MGS4 will have u all set, your wrong..play the Master pieces

also, what is metal gear twin snakes? I heard it was a remake with way better graphics on the ps2 of MGS1?

Gamecube remake of MGS, kinda expensive usually.
