Sony got official press-release about Playstation in Russia, here is some figures:

Playstation 3 sold about 210 000 units

Playstation Portable sold about 800 000 units

Every Playstation 3 owner bought about 5 Playstation 3 games (Tie Ratio = 5)

They expect 40% year to year grow for Playstation 3 install base by the end of 2009

About 150 000 users in Russian PSN and about 3 000 000 downloads.

Few facts about Russian gaming market:

- Biggest gaming platform in Russia is PC

- Pirating gaming market for PC, PSP, Wii and 360 is HUGE

- Wii market is very small in Russia

- There are Russian PSN (Still we are missing a lot of good content here, so we get used to register in UK and US stores), but no Russian XBL

Pretty high attach ratio for PS3, basically half of those software sales are games for PS3. I'd say too high considering PS2 and PSP piracy rates.

Microsoft confernece wasn't that informative. MS claims they control 49% of next-gen console market in Russia. What did they mean by that? I don't know.

I noticed there are lot of Russians playing Killzone 2! I think the game was lokalized as well. Russia is a huge market. Good for Sony.
