Sorry, I misinterpreted what you said. 

Its all to do with the momentum. If you were on this site in 07 no way would you say it was a pro Sony website, it was a Nintendo bloodbath, any given day half the forum topics would be blue, and any pro-Sony fan was getting torched from both Wii and 360 fans. Which is maybe one of the reasons PS3 fans are very vocal now.

When a console has momentum, when there is a lot of great games coming out or sales are really good, there is a lot for that consoles owners to talk about. So usually they'll visit the site more often and create and participate in a lot more topics, and vice versa for owners of consoles that aren't selling well, or don't have many games coming out. And with this increase in supporters of a particular console comes more fanboys, which makes sense. If 5% of people who own a PS3 are fanboys, and the number of PS3 owners contributing in the forum doubles, then thats twice as many fanboys.

Well, no need to take it personally as long as you aren't part of that group of mindless fanboys

just tick me off, there is no reason why they couldn't have been well thought through responses, that manage to get the point across without insulting anyone or spewing lies.

Binary - you're only going to take 1 poll to make your point? Look at all the ones for this year, the general trend is that the pro-sony vote has won out consistently, and anything anti-Wii is usually favored as well.

Your point of the number of MS + Nintendo fans being greater than Sony fans makes no sense. That's like saying that if all the votes for Gore and Nader were combined, Bush would have lost in 2000. There are MS fans, there are Nintendo fans, but the sheer volume is in favor of the Sony fans. What further drives the point home is the comment sections on news, and the forums in general - most comments are pro-Sony or anti- Wii or anti-MS.

I believe it's because the PS fanboys are most vocal in the other consoles forums.
Go to the MS forums and see how easily threads get derailed by people who haven't played the game in the topic or own a 360 giving us the facts which we seem to miss.
Funny how those facts are always negative?

Be proud of your system of choice but don't attack others over theirs.
If I'm excited about MW2 don't tell me I shouldn't be because it's a multiplat title. Didn't realise I'm only allowed to get excited over exclusives.

If you want to wonder the forums show some respect for others. They own the machines, they own and play the games and know a damn site more than you do.

I also see fanboys and fans as different entities. A rational PS owner asking good inquisitive questions or giving an unbiased opinion I would call a PS fan. Then there's fanboys.

I guess it really does depend on where you go because from my experience, ps3 threads get derailed all the time.

Then don't go into MS threads.

I have my own perception of this matter, as well as my own, personal list of fanboys from all camps whom I find it best to just ignore.

Something I see far to often is people praising their favourite systems/companies, and it's nothing wrong with that, but they just have to say something bad about the other ones. I mean, praise your darling all you want but if you bully the others you are nothing but a disgrace.

I'm also sick of people who enters discussions about games they have no interest in at all, just to spew out their, often ignorant, negative thoughts. Nothing wrong with criticism, but unless it's creative what's the point?

And last, to all fanboys:
If your system is so damn good and has so many good games, then why are you wasting so much time on trolling and flaming?
