Forums - Gaming - Kingdom Hearts: BBS should be ported to the Wii

I say "stop whining" and get a PSP if you want to play Crisis Core, BBS, or Dissidia, it is worth it and the console only cost like 169 (msrp) new and 125 (msrp) used (problem solved). Why wait for it to "never" come, when you could already have it pre-ordered (like I do) and just waiting to pick it up when it releases.

I have the feeling that just like Dissidia and Crisis Core: FFVII this will be a game made for an handheld, but if you haven't played those games you probably won't know what I mean.

A lot of Square-enix fans own a PSP (a lot more than the Wii probably), and so far they have sold well, and I see some wishfull thinking from your part.

Square-Enix fans aren't the only people that buy Kingdom Hearts though. It is probably mostly composed of a Disney fanbase.

I keep hearing this from people on VGC and I still don't believe. It's always been the Final Fantasy fanbase that also likes the Kingdom Hearts games. I'm sure that lots of Disney buy into as well, but don't think that Disney is the main reason for the sales.

I'm guessing we don't work in the same circles then.  Cause... most of the people I know who own KH are the kind of people that HATE final fantasy games.

I think your problem is your going from an online forum perspective and not a general one.

Take a look at the marketing, then tell me who the game sold to.

As for a port?  I guess they could... if they felt like screwing around with ports.  SE kinda seems a little burned by the port thing lately though.  I think they'd rather spend port money on cheap "western like" digital download titles.

We don't know there is a fanbase for kingdom hearts on wii soriku, I mean have disney games sold well on the wii?

S-E doesn't know if there's a fanbase for KH on the PSP...

S-E knows there is a fanbase for KH on the sony platforms and that includes the psp.

The same thing could be said for Nintendo platforms.

But those were side stories I meant to say the main kH titles.

Gintama is the funniest show EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Proud owner of all currnet gen consoles.

I not a big wii fan

Okita the sadist.

So I just looked up game sales for Disney games. There's 20 or so on the Wii and the only games I see selling decently are either movie tie-ins [which KH is not] or the EXTREMELY casual stuff [which is something that I disagree to file KH under] like "Disney Sing It" and "Disney Princess: Enchanted Journey".

On the PSP side, there are only 3 games from Disney:

G-Force which is on PSP and Wii and the sales are basically 100K-Wii and 60K-PSP. This is movie tie-in and I believe movie tie-ins will of course sell more on:

1) Market Leaders [Wii, DS]
2) Cheaper Systems [Wii, DS]

Some Hana Montana game.

And Pirates3 which is again, a Movie Tie-in.

I really don't see how someone can say the Wii would be a better platform for this title based on fanbase... There's nothing supporting this. There's nothing similar or remotely related to KH on the Wii, where as on PSP we atleast have Crisis Core as a judge. Also Portable OPs and GoW:CoO to certain extent since they atleast show what's possible when a main PS2 series is attempted on PSP.

Except for the fact that in general the Wii sells more software then the PSP?

It's not like we're comparing equals here or something.

Besides... considering the FF7 name... Crisis Core kinda didn't live up to expectations.

It sold under FF3 for DS so far.  Which kinda shows why you'd want to avoid that.

I don't follow. The worlds in KH are all based on movies, and chances are if you're a kid and like Pirates, G-Force, Ratatouille, whatever you're gonna like Donald, Goofy, Tarzan, etc. The only possible split in Disney fans are those teenage girls or whatever who like High School Musical or any of those reality teen shows/movies. But even then some of them mix. For example, my 9 year old cousin likes KH, likes the Disney characters, and likes Hannah Montana.

Crisis Core isn't like KH at all. The only thing it shares are the FF characters (the minority in KH) and slight similarities in battle systems but that's it. The only people who are going to buy KH BBS are FF fans, but not every Disney fan is going to buy Crisis Core. That's why I'm saying keeping it on PSP makes sense because of FF fans, but not because of the nonexistant Disney fanbase on the PSP which is present on the Wii.

Plus, Epic Mickey is on the Wii so there. You think Disney would put that on the Wii if they thought the Disney fanbase wasn't present on the Wii? lol no.

u haven't played Crisis core right?. the battle system it's the same. with minor differences.

agito, also have similar one.

crisis core even magic behave similar fire have homming effects and zack have able to dodge rolling.

Soriku said:

The battle system is similar but that's it. I doubt people who like KH but not FF were buying Crisis Core just because the battle system is similar when each of their concepts, characters, etc. are totally different...

yet all people that likes FF (read alot of people over 5 million). buy KH because square enix ARPG. similar to crisis core, versus and agito.

all directed by tetsuya nomura.

all of them part of square final fantasy universe.

That's... not actually the case though.

The KH games sold mostly to Disney fans.  I mean look at the marketing.

If the majority of FF bought KH its sales the Japanese sales would be.

The sales ratios prove your claim false.

@Soriku

What you're saying sounds like you're talking about the people who'll buy it just because it's heavily Disney related. Your statement about how each world is based on movies are true but when I played KH, each world had pretty much just the core plot and climax, they were all really short. Also your actions were way of topic. You were fighting enemies that were from Kingdom Hearts and not those specific worlds half the time.

People who buy movie games expect much longer and much more detailed and focused experiences on that particular movie than what KH games offer. It just doesn't seem right to even compare KH to movie tie-ins when you consider this. It's more like a cross-over game.

Also, Crisis Core and Tales atleast shows there's a market for action RPG's on PSP - Something the sales of those other games doesn't.

As for Epic Mickey and sales, Agent is PS Exclusive even though GTAIV sold much more on 360 than PS3. Agent still has the chance to be a success if made and marketed well. Gears this gen, Halo last gen, and MGS1 in the 5th gen show that exclusivity can be beneficial to getting an IP to really take off and creating their own fanbase.
