Sales for Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 warmed up in Japan on strong software sales.

Media Create Co. on Fri. reported that the Xbox 360 sold 6,047 units between Oct. 26 and Nov. 1 to rank No. 6 in overall hardware sales.

By comparison, the hardware sold 4,470 units the week prior.

In addition, the hardware ranked three software titles in the top 25 sales during the week.

Microsoft in Oct. released a new Xbox 360 Elite bundle to Japan.

Microsoft in Sept. announced the new Xbox 360 250GB Modern Warfare 2 Limited Edition SKU to be released on Nov. 10.

In addition, in Sept. it began sale of a new Xbox 360 Elite 2009 Holiday Bundle with two game titles at $299.99.
