I had only a 20GB for the first 3.5 years I owned a 360 and it's honestly fine for most stuff. I really only wanted a bigger one when MS came out with optional installs.

Well he has a point but not all stores got 30. I think around 15ish would be a better average.

Amazon had the deal for a whopping 3 minutes, so they prolly only had a few thousand to sell.

360 should beat PS3 by 60+k that week but I dont think its enough to beat PS3 World Wide but come very close.

hmm, The arcade(plain, no bundles) didnt even make it to the top 100 sellers on Amazon video games.

and amazon doesnt have unlimited stock. Amazon did this for the Ps3 (I believe) and its games too. With no sign of a bump for either HW or SW. Now what are they going to sell till they get a new shipment? Exactly, nothing. Just because something sells out doesnt mean it'll increase sales by 2 times.

but the gift card isnt valid with gamestop or ebay. Only Walmart. Which when I looked online only carried 135 dollar HDD.

That is some kind of time weighted average hour/day/week/year/whatever. A shortdeal may not show up. Or may take a while to show the effects I dont know.

 

I also have no idea how many Amazon actually had available.

Will probably see a modest 10-20K boost. i.e. people who were planning to buy an xbox in store Y, will probably go to Walmart to check it out.

200 dollar console is not a "impulse buy" to people who normally shop Walmart anyway. regardless how much store credit they give out

We saw instant improvments on other similiar sales. Such as Ps3 price drop.

This is a huge sale for the 360 in north America. Retailers are bending over backwards trying to get people in the stores and using the 360 as a loss leader maybe a strategy seen through out all of November. Target, bestbuy, sears, all may be eyeing this sale to see how well it works.
