Couldn't you do this on a PC emulator anyway?
Tease.

Obviously you are not a fan of the series, but if you were would you pay 40$ for a blurry mess SD game from the ps2 era? I perfer to have the HD version for it's sharper textures due to AA, vivid colors, and Solid frame rate. I know you did not say this slimebeast, but I find it "funny" when wii only owners complain about remakes when every other game they buy on the wii "is" a remake with NO enhancements what so ever (gamecube to wii not that much of a difference IMO). It is like the pot calling the kettle black. This is obviously a game for those of us (me) who did not get to play God of War last generation (I had an xbox) and trophy whores like myself (guilty).
Who has complained about this port? You people crack me up. People are looking at the screen shots and saying they don't see a huge difference like the thread title offers. Discussing the topic at hand is complaining now?

First off ewwww! you should have been perma-banned for having that as your signature. On-topic, if you purchased the metroid remakes for the wii (which had no enhancements other than the minimal change of control configuration), you do not own or will own a PS3 why on earth would you care about HD resolutions and 4x AA enhancements? This means that you are merely here to troll, that is all I am saying. This is an enhanced port of an SD game from the PS2 era, it is if these videos and pictures are correct- enhanced. Because you "probably" do not have an HD tv, you will never notice the difference even if you did buy a ps3. Me personally I do not play any game in SD anymore (too last gen for my taste) so this will go a long way in increasing my enjoyment out of my 52' 1080p 240HZ HDTV. I could be wrong and you may have HD, but again HD gaming is so much more than just a resolution boost, it allows the gamer to see effects that would have gone unnoticed last gen with SD resolution (HDR, bloom, post processing effects, normal mapping, etc).
The PS3 version's darker and has slightly better color contrast. That's about all I'm getting...
The difference doesn't really seem like much.
4 ≈ One
First off, I am getting this in any case...
However, the difference NOT huge by any stretch of the imagination. Even viewing at full rez, it is clear that this is meant to be an HD update, not a remake.
Still getting it though.

That would explain it. I will never notice those kind of differences. Higher texture resolution and AA barely makes a difference if you ask me. Thanks for the explanation though. Doesn't seem like it would be something to call a huge difference though. |
Yeah, I don't think its a huge difference either - however, if you want to play these games on a PS3 hooked up to an HD TV, you will be getting a nicer visual presentation of essentially the same game and assets - ideally you also be getting a smooth frame rate and no tearing, too.
I might well pick this up as I missed the GoW titles (solid PC man at the time) and would like to play them before I try out GoW3. I toyed with picking them up cheap for PS2 and having my PS3 up-scaling them, but clearly having them available native to PS3 with HD resolution is preferable.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Why are you talking about the Wii? What relevance does that have to the topic at hand? You accuse me of trolling, but you are going off-topic to attack another console. I would ask that you stick to the topic at hand.
You have yet to make a coherent point at all though. I have been gaming on PC, and thus in "HD" for ages. I never have really considered just a resolution and AA bump to be a huge difference. I came in here to see what they did with the God of War port, and have been discussing it since. Why, exactly, are you here?

PC only does everything.

Of course I always prefer the best grafix possible, but Im not a big fan of putting resources into resolution, and I argue about this all the time with PC fans too.
For example, look at the small thumbnails in my sig. Even though theyre minimal, there's certain obvious qualities beyond the resolution that instantly show they are current gen grafix.
There's so many grafix effects that are far more important than resolution. Resolution is extremely over-rated.
