Perhaps it opened badly because the topic has already been discuss. And it might be too soon for another thread.

really only 11?

See what i mean, Rol?

I don't mind that he asked. Let me just say that I expected more from you for some reason.

@Pock3R: That number is coming from Nintendo's financial report, so it's not a dumb reason. Companies usually try to make good predictions in their financial reports, because their stock suffers if they underperform.

right and a lot of times, a game underperforms....so saying how much they are shipping doesnt mean anything.

LOL at people saying only 11.

Nintendo still doomed?

Ok Rol, the DS/Wii comparison thing that you claim 'everybody should look at' (i said the sentence between quotes in a sarcastic manner) is faulty. First of all, Mario Kart DS launched very shortly after the DS launched. And we all know what people thought of the DS when it first came out. (they thought it was a stupid piece of shit) Also, launch games, or games that come out close to the launch period, never tend to perform at the level they could because of a small userbase.

Also, (this is a point I made in my thread (which is superior by the way)) Mario Kart Wii is BUNDLED. People like the idea that they are getting something for free. Now, if every copy of NSMBWii were bundled with the plastic classic controller you put over your Wii remote, (or hell, just a free classic controller in general!) then you would have a point here.. but sadly.. you don't.

I could go on refuting your points, but I don't want to take attention away from this point.

In closing, I want to say that I hope my thread performs better than yours. But it won't because everyone here is a Rol fanboy. Everyone loves Rol. It's like trying to compete with Nintendo or some shit.

Well, I believe, like you said, that Mario games are good across all platforms.

The main difference, I think, is that a lot more people had DSs when NSMB came out.

(also here is my famous happy feet thread =] )

It has Wii in the title. Isn't that as much as a reason as shown by the sales charts?

NSMB DS launched on a userbase of 18.6 million.

After 12 months, the DS was at 43 million, and NSMB has sold 10 million.

NSMB Wii is launching at a userbase of ~ 60 million

After 12 months, the Wii is going to be at ~ 80 million.

Been there, done that.

Good thing Torillian wandered in there and locked the thread.

What would we do without mods?

So far only four games on Wii have sold over 10mil. They are Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Wii Play, And Mario Kart Wii.

Can anyone tell me what the common theme is here? Well ok there is two things.

1. They all focus on motion control
2. They appeal to a different audience then gamers (yes even mario kart, it had it's cute little steering wheel and just looked like so much fun on those ads)

In all seriousness this game won't pass 10mil in your timeframe, and it will be very lucky to do so at all.

ok fine, im wrong on that point. fuck!

you cant refute the points i made in my thread though.
