Because there hasn't been a single God of War released on the PS3. Most people who wanted Mass Effect would have a 360 by now. God of War hasn't dropped yet, and there could be 360 only users who are waiting for that game so they can purchase a PS3. Therefore, the potential is larger.

Note that I said "significant". Maybe we'll see a significant boost but I don't really see it happening - I find it hard to imagine that that many diehard God of War fans have held off on getting a PS3.

Oh, I'm not saying it's going to sell shitloads. It's not a GT/Halo/Dragon Quest/Final Fantasy, and anyone who says so is an ostrich with his head buried deep in the sand, ignoring reality. But if you're putting it up along with MAG against the likes of Splinter Cell: Conviction and Mass Effect 2, it can definitely hold its ground given the reasoning I provided.

wow forza launch week and 360 wasnt able to beat the ps3 in its home turf!

wats up wit the SW too i thought forza would do around 500k in NA i hope gt5 doesnt suffer the same fate with all these gt vs forza threads lately

wat does every one think the 360 will do on MW2 launch week will it be able to outsell the ps3 in its home region?

if the ps3 is able to outsell it in NA wen MW2 comes then look forward for the ps3>360 in NA for quite some time and that will be big

PS2's HIGH sales along with GOW's quality drove GOW sales imo

Well, given that God of War's strongest fanbase resides in NA, where the PS3 really needs strong software, it could push a good amount of consoles. It has a better chance than Mass Effect, IMHO.

we didn't had a god of war on the ps3 yet. its likely give a small boost.

though it's a god of war 4 was going to release that game should givea  boost, if the game it's better at much should match or pass by a  little first game sales, but a hardware boost not on the same console.

Whatever happened to the PS3 is doomed threads?

It was so obvious Sony could stimulate PS3 sales when they needed to. The people that claimed it was doomed were expressing what they wanted to happen and not would happen.

Christmas is going to be huge for the PS3.
