According to VGC, it sold 1.6m in the Americas in the first week alone. So with 8 days of selling and UK numbers added in which are probably over 175k, you are at 1.8m {I know I have forgotten Canada}. However, that only takes it up to the 26th, so VGC numbers are probably a little over this, but nothing huge

Well, if you compare Halo Wars to other Halo games, it sold nowhere near as much. People are blowing this claim way out of proportion.

For a console RTS that worked it deserved it's sales.
In fact it should have had more but to expect Halo fps type sales is going a bit out there.

I agree, and that's my point. It deserves its sales, but when people say "anything with the name Halo sells" and you compare sales of HW to other iterations, it clearly proves otherwise.

Halo Wars is not an expansion, it's an RTS.

Halo ODST was a full game until the sales came in, but now it's an expansion, so I don't know.
