Haven't they said this all along? I don't think this is anything new.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

If Activision forced them to, they would do it. That's the only thing i'm surprised about here.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I think Activision would refrain from that, could kill the golden goose, they'll just employ someone else like they did with CoD4 - that way Activision get what they want without upsetting the IW guys.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
It can be done, but it can't be easily done, and that's the main problem here... you may try to maximize any hardware, but it needs time, specific tools and skills... just like in the previous gen with PS2: at the start of the gen, many devs had hard times, then it went better and better after two or three years of dedication to the hardware...
But they won't do the same efforts for Wii this gen, as most of the "core" gamers are already playin on PS360, and if these gamers have to choose between a beautiful version with perfect online and a "standard looking" version with average online, their money will go to the first, obviously...
I'm sure that if Wii was more powerful, even if not HD, many devs would take the time to do good ports: they don't hate Wii in itself, they don't like its limitations, that's all...
And the diiference in budget may be a good point for Wii exclusives, but in this case, a "difficult" Wii port will take a lot of time (and money) because of the downgrading of graphics which still need to look great, and the specific controls to be added... plus, revenues may be way lower than on PS360 anyway, due to the very different userbases: so it's a vicious circle...

"A beautiful drawing in 480i will stay beautiful forever...
and an ugly drawing in 1080p will stay ugly forever..."
*sigh* If you want to play CoD games, get a 360 or a PS3. =/ Although I do believe Activision will just do with MW2 what they did with MW1. Get someone else to port it. IMO, CoD games aren't suited for the Wii. The Wii has its own fantastic library and franchises, and, with the exception of Metroid Prime, none of them are FPS!
They can't just force their biggest developer into something they don't want. IW has a lot of saying in what goes with the COD franchise, these are the same guys who left EA after they tried to "force" them into something they don't want so they will probably don't again.
At least they openly speak their mind, unlike other companies that promise support and then put out an on-rails spin-off. Anyways, I could care less about MW or CoD in general, I hate most FPS out there (Bioshock and Half-Life 2 are exceptions)
