Forums - Sony - Have KZ2 and Uncharted 2 curbed your anticipation of MW2?

I'm still looking forward to MW2, mainly the multiplayer portion.

I didn't like KZ2: the SP campaing was boring and forgettable. The multiplayer was so-so. It took quite a while for the multiplayer to get interesting. Once you unlocked a few classes, the fun began. My biggest annoyance in KZ2 was that it supported spawn camping with those spawn grenades. A lot of players would camp with their rockets, and this happened to the majority of games I've played. Not only that, there was one class that was way overpowered.

Uncharted 2's SP is great, and I had a lot of fun with the co-op during the beta. I don't really dig the multiplayer though. I like plunder, but that's about it. There isn't a guarantee that plunder will show up for the voting which kinda sucks.

I'm hoping MW2 will fill my multiplayer needs. Will rent it first.

As long as MW1 is still up and running, there isn't much to motivate me to get MW2 quite yet.

Nope, not at all.

I didn't like Killzone 2. Let's face it, the game wasn't good. It was an average game with amazing graphics, and that's it. Controls sucked, gameplay wasn't there... I loved Uncharted 2, though. Uncharted 2 is easily the best game this generation. It's the only game for the current consoles that beats out any game from the last generation consoles.

MW2 is a completely different style game than Uncharted 2. I'm buying it day one and will enjoy it just as much as COD4, which was another one of my favorite games this gen.

I'm so hyped for MW2. Ermf!

I must say I did not buy Killzone 2 though.

I'm excited to play both the SP and the MP.

Nope, can't face that, as that's an opinion. In fact, it's the complete opposite for me, as I found Killzone 2 to be FAR more enjoyable than COD 4. This is why we can't "face it".

And I enjoyed Megaman ZX more than I did Mario Galaxy. It doesn't make it a better game now, does it?

Do you honestly think Killzone 2 is better than COD4? You must mean graphics then.

It's kind of useless to question opinions.

Not really. I understand that he enjoyed the game more, but does he actually think it's a better game?

It's like someone saying, "Well I liked Sonic 06 better than Uncharted 2, so it's a better game."

Not at all.

I greatly enjoyed Killzone 2, in particular the campaign. But, while a very well-made game, it could not stand up to CoD4 in terms of replayability and simple fun. I have no doubt that MW2 will be better than Killzone 2 in every way, save perhaps for graphics.

Uncharted 2 is currently my favourite game of the generation. It is an incredible single player experience, with some very good multiplayer thrown in for added replay value. However, it is a third person shooter with some platforming aspects and quite a large focus on melee combat, whereas Modern Warfare and its sequel are FPS (ignoring that god awful TPS mode), with a strong emphasis on combat at large distances. The focus is clearly on the multiplayer, at least in the original. CoD4's campaign was enjoyable but no masterpiece (in my opinion, of course). It was also very short. It was the fantastic multiplayer which kept me coming back to the game and enjoying every minute of it.

So, I am still anticipating MW2, despite the existence of two other fantastic games in vaguely the same genre.

I'm not American, so I don't care much for FPS. Once upon a time I was playing the greatest FPS multiplayer game that was and forever will be Counter Strike.

I've played Killzone 2, the singleplayer was pretty average, nothing new or innovative. But I like the feeling of the game, that heavyness of your movement, weapons. It's a definitive war simulator when it comes to atmosfere. Also I really enjoyed it's multiplayer, I'm still playing it.

Uncharted 2 is my GOTY, perfection introduced to gaming.

I will play through Modern Warfare 2 on my PC, FPS on console just doesn't feel right to for me. Maybe that's the reason why I like Killzone 2, because it's slower and more tactical than you usual Halo 3 acrobatic speediness.

MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising

My computer isn't strong enough for the game and I don't intend to buy any Activision game, so no, my anticipation for the game wasn't curbed by U2 and KZ2 :P

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.
