Forums - Sony - Anyone else in disbelief about those MAG preorder numbers?

Cannot believe people questioning MAG hype.

How many threads get made about the game here and other places? Hardly any. How many people chat to you about it in outside of the net? Betting none.

Questioning it has hype or it lacks hype?

you low expectation having mother fucker. MAG is gonna be huge. I expect 2 million lifetime minimum.

Please tell me you're joking...?

Joking about what? I don't get your objection. 2 million sales is reasonable.

Unless you meant MF as a joke, then that's why I quoted you and highlighted that.

oh lol yeah the MF part was a joke. That's a line from one of Chris Rock's stand up routines.

I am very shocked, and have been expecting that the numbers would've been adjusted down by now. 80k with 12 weeks to go? That's insane for a game that nobody expected to sell even a million lifetime (I know I didn't expect it to).

im not shocked at all.

i predict MAG to have a tremendous opening week, zipper will deliver a solid online only shooter on retail release.

it will also be a game with a large online community.

my only gripe is that the community will be to hardcore, and casual players may not like it.

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Unless something really goes wrong, I would be shocked if this doesn't sell 1 million +. This game will appeal to the Socom army(and no they don't seem to post here). Confrontation has quietly sold 900k since launch, and it doesn't appear to be half the game MAG is. Before any of the bundled headset non-sense is posted, Socom Confrontation is the most played game on PSN.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

If by disbelief you mean I don't believe the numbers are accurate then yes.

I really don't care either way personally, week 1 sales will show the true demand in the end and I don't mind waiting. They better launch this as a finished product though because the game will tank if they go the beta route home went down.

Again, why?

Black and green: HOME and MAG aren't comparable. They weren't selling HOME, though 8-9mill users isn't tanking.

Good for you, I'm sure there is constantly 8-9 million individuals using it each week.  Home tanked big style given the huge expectation placed upon it by both Sony and the fanbase who waited over a year for it.  If you enjoy it then fine thats your opinion, personally speaking it was a complete waste of time and resources and I'd rather they funded another AAA first party title instead.  Feel free to disagree, you're not changing my perception of Home and vice versa.

It is comparable in the fact it's a online only experience, if the netcode isn't up to the job when the servers fill then it will be a disaster and the legs will be cut from under it.  Home has spent all this time trying to recover from what was a very sparse and boring beta introduction, MAG needs to hit the ground running or it will suffer a backlash.

OT - Why shouldn't I have the right to question VG Chartz numbers, it's not like they have a 100% acuracy rating.  I don't go around saying all the data on here is innaccurate but I believe that pre orders more than anything else tracked can be one of the most inaccurate records, right up there with software sales on occasion.
