Why u call me out on it though? Ive never seen anyone else prove it either, that there's a certain level of hype for a game. These statements are always based on subjective opinion and evaluation, and sometimes a general consensus forms on whether a game was hyped or not.

Your claim was bold. You doubt VG's numbers because YOU see no hype for the game?

 

Yeah, what else should I do? Evaluate things based on what YOU see?

he is right though, just show me people getting crazy over MAG.

I have my doubts as well considering those numbers. Established franchises like Mass Effect, God of War, Splinter Cell or Bioshock have not as many preorder as MAG...? Furthermore MAG seems to be more niche, it is only for online gaming. I guess we will have to see. Seems strange anyway.

I always thought that the company behind the game (Zipper Interactive) would help people in deciding to get this game.

Never doubted anything about it. It'll sell a million+ units.

Zipper has quite a strong loyal fan base, kinda like Insomniacs.

Don't underestimate that,

Plus its a shooter it might grab more interest then even a established action hack and slash or a rpg.

Yeah look at the Socom fan base.

I think a good portion of that base will get MAG.

As known by now, what is on the interent does not reflect real world views. Not everyone on the internet has access to the beta. Not everyone on the internet is crazy about MAG. So what?

Also, other games from different genres mean nothing here, as MAG has not only a beta, but is in a different genre from every game you mentioned, except for Bioshock, which in reality isn't like MAG either.

MAG stands out alone.

It's like Heavy Rain, but more action oriented.

It's an MMOFPS.

If by disbelief you mean I don't believe the numbers are accurate then yes.

I really don't care either way personally, week 1 sales will show the true demand in the end and I don't mind waiting. They better launch this as a finished product though because the game will tank if they go the beta route home went down.
