Wow, that will be a smart move if Sony and Bioware come to an agreement. Being able to use the PC mods in the PS3 version will be a huge step forward into bringing more and more User content into the console RPG world ;). If this would have been done a couple of years ago, I can imagine the 15 GB of mods I have for Oblivion on my PS3, making it the ultimate Oblivion version ever xD

Don't you just love Mods? I have a lot on Oblivion as well, it has the best mods ever lol.

Oblivion has some superb mods, especially FCOM+Warcry xD Also MM and the Hunger mods are two of my favourites as well

I use body replacer and clothing mods lol.  I want to try some of the bigger ones like other worlds or the rebuilt Kavatch (sp) but I'm still iffy about bigger mods.

The rebuilt Kvatch mod is quite good although it can take a while before the next quest comes along. The bigger mods do work and the mod community usually picks up on incompatable mods. I also recommend the Archaelogy Guild mod and the Kumiko manor mod. A promising one that I've just loaded is Elsweyr. It opens up a large new section of map (mainly desert) and allows the riding of Elephants! Basically, large mods are fine.

That's good to hear. I wanted to try Elsweyr as well. It's just i have all these smaller mods, then the bigger mods need other files to make them work, it becomes too much trouble after a while. For example like what's OMOD and whats all those other abbreviated files that say they need it to make the mods work. Then i need to install them, then install the mod, it's too much sometimes, that's why i like the little ones.

@Scoobes

Wow, Didn't knew about Elsweyr mod being completed, i'll give it a try XD Archaelogy Guild is also good, but since most of it has been adapted in FCOM, I haven't loaded it in a while.

Not completed as such, but some quests have been added as of last month. I just update with each new release. I just loved going through the desert first time, lol.

Gamespot gave PC version a 95

PS3 90

and 360 85.

So i guess it really is true that PC > PS3 > 360.

But that's not what i'm saying here. Were talking about mods for the game.

Yeah i know, im just saying... It seems PC and PS3 are superior WITHOUT the mods.

I bet when Lens of truth gets to the game the 360 version will be better than PS3. I use to like them but now not so much. They seem to be more biased lately.

To clear up what seems to be some confusion here. The reason why Unreal (and hopefully Dragon Age: Origins) have mod support is because Sony allows externally produced game data to be put onto the system by the user. Microsoft has so far not allowed this. So while Microsoft do allow 'mods' in the form of on console made content, they have so far not allowed the installation of PC created content by users.

If Dragon Age: Origin do get mod support on the PS3 it is extremely likely to be in the same form as Unreal, where you get a 'PS3 compiler' for the PC mod tools, which lets you create files that can be transferred to the PS3 with a USB stick or direct download through the browser.

As far as I know a major reason for Sony being more permissive is that their security model is better. The whole PS3 game os is run virtualized as far as I know instead of directly on the hardware, making using mods for hacking the system much harder. Even if you are able to find a security glitch in the mod system you still are locked within your sandbox.
