going to get this as soon as possible.
How does it compare to BG2? I'm guessing its not a good as it but still an above average game?

Go buy a xbox... walmart oh yea your in canada..
either way buy a xbox.
Yeah I'm gonna have to start planning out my fights better. I haven't died yet but I've gotten close. I like the way your background is completely different depending on your race/class combo. Although I found the warrior background hilarious for me. My warrior is a black guy with cornrows and my whole family seemed to be white with British accents.
I made a female rogue City Elf just to see what the intro would be. I won't say what happens but it's really messed up. Elves get treated like dirt by humans in this games world.

I ended up with the PS3 collectors.
The pre-order doesn't come until the 17th, but I just walked into a store and picked one up... last time I pre-order at best-buy.

Some scenes people are swiming in blood but still being alive and talking. And all characters are always coverd in blood after fighting. Even slaying the giant rats splatter your face with blood :D |
Yeah, the blood is overdone. The excessive amount of blood is my biggest complaint so far.
However, I am really enjoying the story / game so far. The combat system is very well designed. The concept of friendly fire helps making the game involve a nice level of strategy. The skill and talent trees have a lot of ways to vary character design as well.
You know you can scale the blood if you are using the PC version,,,,

I'm stuck!
Can't seem to beat the boss (es).
SPOILER:
I'm in the woods having to choose between helping the werewolves or they elves but both groups are waaaaaay too strong for me to defeat so I die no matter which one I choose.
Any tips anyone?
^ Go for the werewolfs. I usually stunned as many as i could with my mage, and then focused all heroes on one enemy at a time. And with the werewolfs i also did alot of all ranged combat so to lure them out one by one.
I played with 1mage, 2warriors and 1 rouge.
Im getting this for PC as i have a decent PC and it really sounds like it was designed for it. From what i have read/seen of the game it really looks like the spiritual successor to Baldurs gate, which sounds great because those games were some of my all time favourite RPG's. I also love the whole pausing combat thing and setting up tactics to take down enemy's which only the PC version does.

Its not the grunts of the factions I'm talking about but the boss fights, you start in the thick of it with either 10-12 strong werewolves surrounding you and a lone mage (Zathrian or what's-hisname) helping you or with all the werewolves who would normally help you fight stunned for the entire battle so you have to beat three sylvans, two very strong greater shades with life steal and an enraged Zathrian without any help at all. They tear me to bits in no time, I'm level 11-12 with all my characters and have good gear but to no avail it seems.
