Sent to die indeed. 3 JRPG's in 1 week is too much. RoF will kill the others.

Oh well. I'll get RoF and AT3 when they get their localizations. Don't know about Last Rebellion.

I think AT3 will do better than ROF (on PS3) in Japan.

No way. RoF will probably have massive marketing, it has obviously a bigger budget, looks better and it's made by a bigger developer and publisher (Tri-Ace/Sega). If they're smart, it could easily reach White Knight Chronicles-like sales.

The gameplay design of RoF is obviously aiming the western market.  And from I read, the RPG fans in Japan/Asia are more excited about AT3.

One can argue those people are "core" gamers, but again, I don't think the "casual" gamers over there want to play a "shooting" RPG, i.e. RoF.

Last Rebellion is sent to die, that's for sure.

Wenlan...u do kno ROF is the 4th most wanted game in Japan right..why AG3 was 7th..ROF is beating AT3 by alot

i look at the preorder ranking and what people said on the forum over there.  i am not biased toward either of them.

besides, AT3 was announced much later than RoF, so it will affect its ranking at the famitsu most wanted list.

i know you are a big fan of RoF, but we haven't really seen that much gameplay of RoF yet.  don't forget that new IP tends to struggle in Japan (that means low 1st week #).  on the other hand, AT3 is looking really good so far and it seems to be greatly improved over AT2.

let's wait until the end of January to find out :)

unless I missed something...we kno next nothing about AT3..and hella of alot more about ROF...hell the only thing we dont kno ROF is the story. also wenlan Ive have posted many threads aboot ROF battle system...I honestly think ur just behind..ROF is a new IP from a well known developer and publisher..ppl still think that ROF is small RPG..NO...this is SEGAS FF...its marketing is gonna be big

AT3 is developed by Gust and Banpresto and will be published by Namco Bandai.  They are also well known in Japan, and I beleive the marketing for both games will be strong.

I am not behind, RoF has some unique gameplay (tri-Attact-Batle) but I am not sure how I will feel about this type of semi-real time battle until I play the demo.  On the other hand, the gameplay of AT3 will be similar to it's previous instalment.  You can go to their official website if you read Japanese.  http://ar-tonelico.jp/at3/

We are still talking about the sales in Japan, right?  RoF is just too much shooting as an action RPG for my taste.  Don't get me wrong, I think it will be a good game and do very well in the western market.

It (PS3's market share) might hit 30%, but definently not more. ~ Neo

The gameplay of Ar Tonelico III will not be similar to previous instalments. First one is turn-based, other is still but already different (you have attack phase and defend phase, both are timed). I haven't played either so I don't take my word on it..
As for the third game, it action-based, so more like Tales/Star Ocean.

You are right, AT3 has become more like an ARPG, the chacters can move freely during the battles.

AT3 will keep the attack phase and defend phase like AT2.

That guy from Last Rebellion with the red hair reminds me of Sieg from chaos legion.

is the bolded a definite?  Because I'd really like that if true and would love to hear about how they'll make it work.

Umm, I don't it will. Its purely action.

what i heard is, there will be a attacker/defender in the front to protect the singer in the back who sings (or do something "interesting") to boost the power of allies within the certain range
