Bruce is just one of the more vocal viral messengers/bloggers/marketers that Malstrom was talking about.

Also in that Malstrom article, he has a point, why is everyone talking about the Wii HD like it isn't speculation? In this Edge article, they take the word of some blogger who says Nintendo is considering holding off Netflix streaming for an HD Wii being released holiday 2010 - like he knows for sure it's coming.

This is getting a little out of hand...

I find this very interesting too, especially in the lead up to the holidays.

IF, and in my mind this is a huge IF, Nintendo is working on a Wii HD, why on earth would they let any information about a proposed hardware upgrade leak in the lead up to Christmas putting their holiday boost at risk?  The answer is they wouldn't.  The multitude of articles popping up about the Wii HD seems a little too convenient (for the competition) for my liking.

They always work on a new console once they released their console (they made gc then started working on next console which is Wii)

but yes it does baffle me why do they want wii hd or keep predicting when it will be announced or release... in general most of them they hate the wii so why want a WII hd... I dont understand people sometimes... besides... it would be better to make a new console name (super wii wouldn't be bad)

When I said Wii HD i was referring to the purported incremental upgrade or HD scaler that is supposed to be released in 2010, not the next fully fledged system which Nintendo is undoubtedly working on at the moment.

What is this 'supposed'? There is no reason to believe that either an incremental upgrade or HD scaler is occurring in 2010. There is, in fact, no need for either one.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

You are taking my comment out of context and missed one key word, purported, meaning alleged.  Read my previous post, you'll see I feel exactly as you do.

Can this thread be put in bold because it absolutely hilarious especially as the wii is selling 350k+ a week and the xdorks is selling 130k and with nothing great on horizon to shift hardware. PLEASE highlight this thread just for people to have a laugh at it certainly brightened my day

"...the best way to prepare [to be a programmer] is to write programs, and to study great programs that other people have written. In my case, I went to the garbage cans at the Computer Science Center and fished out listings of their operating system." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)

"Hey, Steve, just because you broke into Xerox's house before I did and took the TV doesn't mean I can't go in later and take the stereo." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)

Bill Gates had Mac prototypes to work from, and he was known to be obsessed with trying to make Windows as good as SAND (Steve's Amazing New Device), as a Microsoft exec named it. It was the Mac that Microsoft took for its blueprint on how to make a GUI.

""Windows [n.] - A thirty-two bit extension and GUI shell to a sixteen bit patch to an eight bit operating system originally coded for a four bit microprocessor and sold by a two-bit company that can't stand one bit of competition.""

awesome !lol!

It's nice to see that there are still places in this universe that aren't bothered by trifling details like reality. It can be so restrictive to work within the bounds of the real world, no?

Super World Cup Fighter II: Championship 2010 Edition

I think it stands a chance, depends on how NATAl would perform.

And to close, here is a prize for those who speak of the 360 outselling the Wii:

A bit OT but Bruce's rant on that game Evony, was interesting. I am so sick of seeing Evony adverts like a rash over the Net. That game is suss, to the max :)
