Forums - Microsoft - Would you buy a Microsoft handheld?

All depends on the games.

I still dont even have a PSP yet...

I'd buy a GoBox, if good games were on it, and it offered something others portables didn't (e.g., a sliding out Qwerty keyboard for texting).

Hmm...if it has good games and innovative features, I suppose I would.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

microsoft's first party can hardly maintain a steady flow of exclusives for the 360 alone

heck even sony and nintendo have a hard time supporting their handhelds and home consoles at the same time

so I'd rather if they just focused on home consoles for now

It would have to be able to run homebrew, like the DS and PSP for me to care too much. Not much pocket space these days. My PSP is my one stop shop at the moment. Zune and Windows Mobile phone fill up one pocket each. When they can combine Zune and Windows Mobile, I will be one happy camper.

If it has Achievements, which it most likely would, that would draw a large crowd also and make people want to be legit.

a MS portable console will always be second tier to me because i vastly prefer the home consoles (ps3,wii,360). if the games were great i'd consider it but i hardly touch my ds as is since i rarely travel.

I would think that it would have to have XBL crossover support with the mother box: one XBL account, one gamertag shared between the two so that you don't have to pay for another XBL account and so you can keep your achievements together.

No.
and never ever get hardware, or any critical software (like a software for a car, heavy machines) that runs on windows.

neither microsoft have enough first party support to warrant a forced buy.

The market does not need a portable xbox. The market already has the nintendo ds and playstation portable. Xbox will do just fine without it.

This is one of the main reasons I am considering a Zune right now. Zune + Zune Pass for unlimited song downloads and 10 full ownership downloads for just $15 a month + XBL integration + portable browser and built in HD Radio tuner + future game support! If they had an actual handheld by adding a few buttons and bumping up the specs a little I'd be absolutely thrilled!
