its pretty clear the ps3 outsold the wii last week so numbers should be changed. isnt media create supposed the be the most accurate? i heard nintendo and sony use them for japan sales.

The PS3 can't really be called a "third place console" when referring to Japan, since... it was never the third place console in Japan, which is the only thing that matters in that region.

As for whether it's ever been done before, the PSP did outsell the DS for a few months, in a similar fashion. So, unless the Wii is outsold for the rest of the year (or lifetime), it's not unlike what happened last year.

It looks that VGC is 5k-6k low for PS3 when compared to Famistu and MC. Wii is about right around 25k-26k.

If it actually were the 3rd place console in Japan outselling it's competition I would be really amazed.

Probably this week ps3 was a bit over Wii, 3-4k...the important sales are not started so you can complain if in the holidays's sales there are great errors (like 10-20k), this 4k is just little. I thought VGC used also Famitsu, MC and Dengeki to track Japan, in this case there are other sources who have Wii>Ps3?

I think it's because Famitsu numbers were late this week, so VGC had to use their own sources without benchmark to compare against.
