How can you not know about Killzone 2?

Ehh.. I found the SP campaign in Killzone 2 to be way overrated. YMMV; rent it or have a friend lend it to you if possible.

I did have a chance to try borderlands and I think it's fantastic based on my time with it. Definitely check that out if you want a Diablo style FPS with looting, quests, and all that fun stuff. This is based on my time with the PC version, I have no idea what the ps3 version is like.

Resistance 1 and 2 are my favorite FPS so I recommend you try them

Wait it gets even better. LBP isn't in the top 15 PS3 exclusives and not even in the top 75 PS3 games IMO.

What's more important to you? Singleplayer or Multiplayer?

Only 3 games come to mind. I would highly recommend Killzone 2 and also Resistance 1/2. There is also Unreal Tournament 3, however the online is terrible, I've never seen a game lag so much. Borderlands also looks great but I haven't played it yet.

I warn you now. I got suckered into the majority of people who think Far Cry 2 is good but it's the worst FPS i've played. You drive so fricking much it's pathetic and you have to look in the middle of no where for diamonds which really sucks. Multiplayer was alright I admit but the game just sucks. You can also get shot and never ever find the enemy who shot you. That and it takes like 4 shots with a damn shotgun to kill somebody. Headshots mean nothing. Stay the hell away from this piece of ****.

If you haven't already experienced multiplayer greatness get Killzone 2, Resistance 2, Resistance FOM, MAG, and MW2 or COD WAW. Resistance FOM and 2's multiplayer feel way different so it warrants playing them both. FOM has by far the better campaign but Resistance 2 is a big improvement in multiplayer. Get Killzone 2 and get an HDTV. The campaign in Killzone 2 is better then Resistance by far but not better then FOM. The multiplayer is also on pare with Resistance after all the DLC support. MAG might have better multiplayer then both of them so I'd check it out. But again do yourself a favor and keep away from Far Cry 2. There is no need to torture yourself.

Try Haze, its more fun that most people give it credit for and its cheap (if you can find it)

If anything give Haze a rental, but do yourself a favour and play it on a SDTV.
