Forums - Gaming - Bayonetta PS3 vs 360 performance data revealed

I played the PS3 demo on my Jap account and their were some hiccups along the way that did break the immersion.
The 360 version I played at Eurogamer Expo was much more smooth in comparison.

However whatever version you play IMO Bayonetta was the best hack and slash at the show trumping both Dantes Inferno and amazingly GoW 3.

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

Really? I'd take 30-60 over consistent 30 anyday.

If you're running 30FPS and drop to about 27, you won't notice the change.  You'll only really notice the change once you get to 26 and that's still not bad

If you're running at 60FPS, you can dip down to about 54FPS before you start noticing the change.  That means if your FPS is fluctuating between 60, 50, 60, 40, 45, 60, 45, ect, and is just generally all over the place, it will look terrible even though you have an excellent frame rate the entire time.

That's why it's much better to just lock it at something like 30 or whatever it can consistently keep rather than let it jump all over the place.

I hear Dragon Age isn't so hot on the PS3 either. Sucks that this is still happening with some games.

Seems like Dragon Age has been gimped on both consoles and the PC version will be much the superior version.

Bring on Cry engine 3 I say. Looks like they have done a great job in making an engine that allows for simultaneous development on 360 and PS3 without compromising the performance on either system. With Cry engine 3 there seems to be really no excuse for inferior PS3 versions of a simultatneous release mutli-plat.

I guess Sony kicks itself in the nuts a bit by insisting on extra content if the PS3 version of a multiplat is going to be delayed.

Still, Ghostbusters is the worst multi-plat this gen on this front because they claimed to be developing for PS3 and still managed to give PS3 the crap version.

Since when is a port ever better than the original?

Most 360 ports are generally pretty close to the ps3 original

@V-r0ck, simple.. It's not a port.

Framerate problem don't seem to be something reviewers dock the score off?

Sega knows the ps3 version will still sell, especially in Japan, so there is no reason for them to try to make a better port when it comes to the expense of their own cash flow.

I think the reason why Bayonetta is under such heat from critics is due to the fact it is so noticeable, unlike other multiplat games which required a magnifying glass to notice the difference.
