Oh great, MGS4 all over again.  I can't believe just the fact that it gave you hints for the puzzles (hints which you can turn off in the options btw) is enough for you to call this game a movie as a way to place other games above it.  What a bunch of crap.

I disagree strongly. I can't think of any games besides maybe Assassin's Creed that do climbing, jumping, etc. as well as Uncharted. Gears of War is great but what do you find so original about it? I'm actually asking. I think you've got it backwards. I would say Uncharted is more innovative and Gears "perfected" its style of gameplay. 

What is there to disagree with? I gave examples such as Prince of Persia, Tomb Raider and Killswitch. All of these games came before Uncharted and. The only thing you've got on Gears is Killswitch. Uncharted by no stretch of the imagination is innovative. It just took from other great games and made its own name. Because of Uncharted I may never look at Tomb Raider again, because it is the total package of the games which I forementioned. Gears took from killswitch and innovated and pushing the third person shooters with aggessive warlike atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in a war complete with action, bayonette slicing, Quick reload/ Jamming. Gears is so innovative that Tecmo was compelled to make a game that looks exactly like it in the form of Quantum Theory for the PS3. That game...well..looks like a joke, but still a compliment is a compliment.

I had never heard of Quantum Theory before but I just watched a quick video of it and man is it bad. I had to stop watching it in fear I'd laugh in the middle of class here at school. I think I even saw a hint of roadie running. If spoof games existed this is one of them. This game looks like some 10 year olds with a gaming company tried to remake Gears.

If the default setting was "tips turned off", then I would agree.  If I died several times, and then the game asked "would you like a tip" I would say, "Yes Torillian.  You are correct.".  But, when I walk into a room, and see a bunch of statues, and I say "I wonder if there's any treasure laying around", and the game tells me climb this statue, use the book, and shoot this rope, then I say, "nay".  The option to turn the tips off does me no good at this point.  If the game had "tipped me off" that I could do this, earlier........

Uncharted 2 is the all around best game of the year -by far.  I loved pretty much every moment of it.  It's an experience that every gamer should play.  I play a diverse array of games -RPG's, cinematic games like Indigo Prophecy, platformers, etc.  U2 was perfect for what it was.  I honestly couldn't think of anything more that ND could've added to the experience to make it better.  Still, if you think that there was more than one way to approach  a given situation, or that you  could explore like a Tomb Raider game, or that you could actually make a mistake while climbing, then play the game again.  It's a summer blockbuster in the guise of a video game.  Since I like summer blockbusters, that's no problem.  But I prefer games.

If I owned neither U2 or GeoW2, and I knew what each one had to offer, I'd buy GeoW2 (Hell, I'd definitely rate U2 higher, if I were a game reviewer).  It's just more of a game than U2 was. 

-I barely touched Multi-player in either, though.



Quantum is going to flop. Especially since they're releasing it in an overcrowded quarter.

I completely agree with this...this blog wants to pick Uncharted better, hell, who cares.  But if they are going to pick categories by which to judge these games, they should at least use reasonable arguments to support thier beliefs. 

In fact, I'm not even sure "charm" should come into the discussion when deciding how "bad-ass" someone is...I mean when was the last time someone said... that guy is a BAD ASS!!  He's just SOOOO charming!!  HAHA.

You have just as much choice in GeoW as you do in Uncharted 2.  The overall progression is linear, but how you handle the situations is up to you.  The addition of stealth helps to give you choice in how you handle situations, as well as making the areas more vertical so if you want you can get an advantage in height.  What are all of these differences that make GeoW a less linear experience?  Sure you can choose paths in GeoW but you  also don't have as many large open areas that you can play around with.

I had a long reply typed up, but in the end, what would it accomplish?  Both games are faily linear.  It's two similar but still very different games on two different consoles.  The 360 owners can play Gears, and be happy with an amazing, must play experience.  The PS3 owners can play Uncharted, and have an amazing, must play experience.  Everybody wins.
