Well the final major releases 360 will see this year are MW2, Assassin's Creed 2, and L4D2. Its possible the 360 can see a boost when those are released.

Two other advantages the 360 has is the $199 model and the Elite bundled with 2 games. Lego Batman and Pure isn't a quality bundle but that could be a difference maker for the casual market. I wouldn't be surprised if the 360 is at the bottom, but it should have strong sales nevertheless.

If even Halo ODST didn't boost HW sales, despite very good SW sales, what SW can boost XB360 anymore?
XB360 has become a mighty SW seller, with an excellent attach rate, but SW doesn't return the favour anymore.
Anyway, this Xmas will be big for XB360 too, MS shouldn't worry at least about this.

The PS3 is not the Xbox360. Atleast in Europe the people prefer the PS3. And in Japan too.

The PS3 was to expensive so the people waited some may got a Xbox but now they can afford a PS3 so they go out and buy one.

There wont be a repeat in 2010. The Playstation brand is the stronger Brand. And the potential is bigger.

If MS wont do something quickly very quick. This Christmas. Then it will be almost impossible to defeat the PS3. Natal would come too late.

As the PS3 was weak noone from the Xbox360 side even replied or almost noone because they were sure that the Xbox will win but now the Xbox shows significant weaknesses and everyone seems worried.


I was sure from the beginning the PS3 would win. And I am sure now. And if the WII HD comes really in 2010 then the PS3 has a chance to win the whole gen even if this is unlikely but its possible because the Wii would stop selling and the WII 2 would be next gen. The Xbox360 has a Chance if they drop the Price to 249 and 149 this Christmas. But I think the Xbox Price was never an issue and the people now that the real cost come if you buy the Xbox.

I guessed some months ago that after 1 january 2011 the PS3 will be second and the numbers look really good. Just because the Xbox couldnt really win some ground and make just 3 Million difference in those 2 Years it dont mean that the PS3 cant outsell the Xbox by a big margin.

The Playstation Brand is WAY stronger then the Xbox Brand and thats a fact. If th Xbox Brand would have been really stronger then thr PS3 would be dead already. Dont you see MS made everything right except the RROD. They were cheaper they marketed their Console as a Gaming machine.

They buyed good Games. Even GTA is semi exclusive. Most Multiplatform Titels had even a better grafik not by much but noticable. They got FF 13 mass Effect Halo Gears of War Fable AND STILL they dont manage it to destroy the PS3. In that time the PS3 had not much good  softare MGS 4 ok Uncharted was unknown so what else had they in 2007/2008. Why why is MS so weak ? I dont get it. Nintendo took the Crown from the beginning Sony took it from the beginning BOTH struggled with their 3 Console.

MS made two Consoles and still they have to worry to become third. Dont you see that MS is weak. The brand is weak MS made something wrong. They should have won the battle a long long time ago. That all Indicates that the Xbox Brand is much weaker then the Playstation brand.

Microsofts peak year was 2008 and they never will get back to the heights of 2008. Sonys peak year is certainly NOT 2009. It will start stronger in 2010 then in 2009 and if Sony makes a Cut maybe 50 Euro/Dollar in autumn 2010 and the Wand will be supported with good Software. Its all what they have to do to be the winner in Christmas 2010 and if they win Christmas 2010 its Finally over.

In Italy retailers are now selling PS3 at full price, 299€, but they add an HDMI cable for free, while they offer XB360 Elite + PES 2010 bundles, and adding Forza 2 for free, for 279€.
Before the cuts it was PS3 to be discounted as much as possible from the official retail price.

This is because once a console has reached a large user base a single title wont really do much to boost hardware sales.  Particularly a sequel to a title already released on the console.  At this point software releases on the 360 and soon the PS3 will have little impact other than maintaining sales.  If MS or Sony stopped releasing big titles for the consoles then sales would drop. 

I contend (as well as others) that when GT5 releases sometime in 2010 (end of March Japan) that due to the PS3 having already had GT5P and having sold 32+ million consoles that although GT5 software sales will be great the hardware boost will be just be OK and will only last a couple of weeks.

Of course, but i don't think that the 360 will outsell the ps3 for long time. Think about it, firstly at the release of the ps3 the 360 exclusives were technically better the ps3 ones, but this changed, and now it is the opposite. That means that ps3 games have improved while 360 ones haven't so much. People thought that bluray was not needed, true, at the beginning of this generation, but now, it is needed for a lot of games.

PS3 now cost 239 euro in Germany, it will kick x360 and Wii asses for some more time.

just like all the playstations, thyey never really start off too well but when they get the ball rolling they wont stop! the 360 may neveer outsell the ps3 again this generation and i wont be surprised at all if it dont. 360 could get occasional boosts in america but the ps3 is too strong in europe. right now ps3 is selling in europe what 360 is selling worldwide!

It's easy to look at the numbers now and belive that it will stay this way.

Is it critical for MS to do a pricecut within 6 months? no, thats just stupid. From waht we have learned the pricecuts has best effect when done in sept. Just like Sony could hold out most of 2009, MS will do the same 2010. We all know that jan-sept don't count in the race for the whole year.

MS has, besides a pricecut, the hardware revision card to play. I can bet my nut that they have a fully working 45nm system working right now that they are tweaking to work in a slim case.

All MS has to do is to release a revision with larger drive, 250gb should be enough, that is slimmer and with WiFi and HDMI 1.3 and they will have the same jump as PS3.
