im going to go with the ice rod from link to the past. i had a lot of fun freezing things then throwing them off cliffs and such.
Hmm... how about the ladder? It was the easiest way to cross many obstacles and then you could stand on it to attack ground enemies without being hit. The magical key and red ring were also nice, but not as essential...

I also remember the Medallions in A Link to the Past, they could strike down in the screen!!
Something simillar with the Din's Fire in OoT.

The Magic Hammer in Link to the Past. I love the sound it made!
