Forums - Sales - Did the price cut really helps the PS3 and the Wii? Or its just temporary?

@ctalkeb-----> The topic is if the pricecut really actually help the PS3 and the Wii. Not why I appear for videogames to be depressing. which leads you not on topic and you only post to troll me.

Does/did the Wii need "help"? As for the PS3, i think that question is being answered on a week-by-week basis in PS3 sales threads.

I don't think it's trolling to ask you why you think these threads are relevant. I rather consider your barrage of negative threads to be a form of trolling - which is why I'm asking you.

The reason why people bring in the 360 is because it's a valid point. There have been three price cuts and you seem to lament the two from Wii and PS3, while ignoring the 360 cut, which is doing even worse than what you apparently call failed price cuts from Wii and PS3. And you keep pointing to NPD, as if the rest of the world didn't exist (something quite a few Americans tend to do).

Either look at the general picture and for everyone, instead of focusing on two and apparently even one region (NPD NPD NPD).

You do know the PS3 was under 100K each week b4 the price cut, right?

But the multiple price cut didnt make the 360 in top either. And certainly the price cut didnt make the 360 what MS what theyre expected. 300,000 plus isnt what you call success in a console especially that your console was literally dead on pther territory like Japan. And certainly the Wii especially even with the sales so far isnt need of a price cut. The  console needs stabilizing sales why need of a price cut just means market saturation than anything.

Seem therell be a next generation if the market was already saturated. I mean just honest question when will this generation could gon? 3 years? 6 years? Even 10 years what SONY predicted? I doubt it would take more than 2 years before market hits full saturation...

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

That's the point! Why do you bring up other 'failed' price cuts but not Microsoft's?

No it didn't help at all, in fact they should have raised the PS3 back to $499 and the Wii to $349.

Maybe we shouldn't be arguing with yushire. Just look at the way he writes, and what he writes. Clearly he is suffering from some kind of mental disorder, and that's no laughing matter.

Sorry yushire, I didn't mean to insult you with the "read a book or two and stay in school" comment.

Because PS3 and the Wii was the news right now? Especially the Wii. Since Nintendo didnt make price cut on the Wii since 3 years. Though I should give 360 as example but what for? We knew anyway what is the fate of 360 right now. Im only curious on what the price cut of the 2 consoles will bring. But so far especially the Wii it didnt do its job so far than what its expected.

All conclusions we should make after Christmas.

PS3 was selling less than 125k a week WW, now since the price cut they are selling 2x that much, so yeah the price cut was worth it.
Sony will worry about total WW sales when the PS3 hit $199, because I really don't think they expected the PS3 to outsell the 360 or the Wii world wide total anytime soon.
