well i got the game yesterday, so far so good! chose the knight(frum...odd name) I've been looking online about how to register monsters, many sites say hit it with the encyclopedia, but where do I get this encyclopedia? is it the book of ultima?

You get it later on after one of the dungeons.

Bosses can all be battled again so you will always be able to take care of the bosses in the Encyclopedia. 

By the way, the user feedback on this game in incredibly positive!!! Pretty much everyone who bought it LOVES it!
