About American and Russian anthems, they are both very beautiful.

I don't dislike my national anthem, but the words really don't fit well the music, and the Italian language used was most probably quite obsolete even in 1847 (it became our anthem when Italy became a republic, but it was an old anthem of the times of Italian reunification). And it contains plenty of reunification rethoric, that most people in various regions of Italy has some issues with, as it was used very cynically by Piedmont to impose its leadership on the rest of Italy and to do a strongly centralist state under Piedmontese hegemony although given the wide differences amongst regions, a federal one would have served better the interests of all the other regions.

england should have blakes jerusalem.......

blake wasn't religious in the organised church sense he was a spiritualist and had visions from an early age,painted far out paintings and was basically a real cool dude,way ahead of his time......

jerusalem it should be for england,no doubt about it......the sooner they do it,the better....

england's has words about crushing the scots

scotland's is about rising against the english

argentina's had words about the wars of independence

an anthem is designed to raise patriotic emotions and make you proud to be of your homeland. besides, i love the american national anthem. "in the land of the free and the home of the brave" sounds very nice, and the whole first verse is, imo, great to listen to. (i love the rendition in the movie "Curly Sue". XD
