Say they're starting work now on the Next generation of consoles. They're going to be more powerful than consoles are today. They will need a good 2 - 3 years of lead in time to make a good game and hey, they may be trying to create a new smash hit franchise similar to Gears or Assassins Creed. It doesn't mean the next generation is upon us!

I don't think you can compare ipod to DS and PSP. iPods are mostly bought for music and videos (mostly for music), only very few people buys games for ipod. Currently game sales on ipods are tiny compared to DS and PSP atm.

What's with all the next gen console rumors, its everywhere on the net these days...I'm starting to get excited ...

I know that for 2010 they will not be no new console, but, after that anything can happen ..

I believe the Wii 2 will come out novembre 2011

the next xbox will come out novembre 2012. but , one thing can happen, if MS finds out for sure that Nintendo is preparing for a head start year, MS can reschedule their launch just to match that of Nintendo or for a few month after instead..

After 2010 things will start to heat up.. for sure.

Seeing as how the studio has a history of working with Nintendo. My bet is they are preparing a launch title for the WiiHD that should launch in fall 2011. I think this pretty much confirms that Wii2 is not far away at all. If they aren't talking about the Wii2 then the competition is launching their next platform in 2010/2011 in which case Nintendo will follow suit and release Wii2 Christmas 2011 anyways!

Either way I think this pretty much confirms the next generation is gearing up and getting ready to awe us all!

end of core gaming days prediction:

 

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

 

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

 

E3 2010- Tape runs out

Sounds more like a PS3 game, than a Wii HD game to me
