Forums - Nintendo - excite bike for wiiware!!

as i watched the episode i thought 'the worst they can announce is hogans alley'

then they were like 'excitebike'

then i realised i was wrong

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

I've never played any of the Excite games, I might have to take a look at this.

Both those games were awesome on the NES and you need to reassess your tastes.

so, if i liked excite truck and excite bots, but never played excite bike on the nes, would i probably like this? it does look similar in concept (getting big air and doing tricks and stuff) and it looks like theres different grades you can get for each track, correct?

They're pretty different, actually; the newer EXCITEs are more about tricks than racing, while Excitebike is the other way around. Placing first is what matters, and you use the track's features to go faster (or, alternatively, avoid the parts that slow you down). I recommend checking out some YouTube videos and seeing what you think.

Why did IGN even announce this as a secret game... By looking at that trailer it doesn't deserve any attention at all. Great for people who loved the old games I guess, but this is 2009 and that trailer looked like it was from 15 years ago =/
