Common... have you actualy played Uncharted 2? If 3rd person action adventures are not your thing, than don't be surprised that you don't like the game. Same way I hate shooters on consoles (mouse anyone?), or platformers. I don't let hype and scores cloud my judgement, I just use them as a guide to games which might be to my taste. And with Uncharted 2 (and 1) I've scored jackpot. And yes, the game is THAT good. I've been disappointed previously by some other overhyped titles, but that is not the case here.

I'm going to make this easier for everyone.

I use Metacritic as a way to read a lot of reviews with out actually having to search through every individual site.

I do research online. I read previews, but do not put too much faith into. If the concept of the game interests me then I will pick it up. Yes, I have been burned several times, but I have also found some hidden gems

Yes, if one of my friends recomends me a shooter than I will pick it up. I have another friend that will constantly recomend me RPGs. Both these friends no what I like and have played the games that they are recommending to me


That is what I heard about Killzone 2 and Uncharted. Hated both of them. People on this site hype way too many games =P

Everyone is not like you.

There's a difference between making your point (or your opinion known) and trying to push that same opinion on others or knock them for theirs.

You hate a game so what, who cares apart from you. Surely not Sony or Naughty Dog, nor should anyone else on this forum.

Scores don't matter to you, great. For others they do, great.

Everyone is happy.

Why is it everytime a thread is started about something positive someone always turn up and throw a bad egg? There's a word for that.

Let those who care about such things as U2 getting 97 get on with their enjoyment without trying to spoil it.

There are plenty of anti-U2 threads ( if not start one) and moan there.

I guess that's too much to ask.

Well that's why I don put up with hype, I'm beeing sceptical about every title that is in development. When the first reviews start pouring out and fanboy warcry roam through the web, I take it that positive feedback means I should check it out (if it copes with my taste).

So we are basicaly doing the same, with the exception that you have to bitch about meta ruining your experience :)

So we both agree that that this thread is stupid?

I guess one reviewer gave the game a 9.0 and then another reviewer gave it a 10.

Dsister. If this thread bothers you so much, then why bump it up by posting in it? And if your dissapointed with a game because the hype got to you, it is only your OWN Fault for taking to the hype. And for future reference , I expect to see no threads of yours hyping a games metascore, because that would be hypocrisy wouldn't it?

There have been countless threads on Uncharted in the last week, many about its reviews, and several on metacritic and the fact it went up. We don't need another.

(and nothing against Uncharted 2, it's great, I just hate opening up the hot topics and seeing so many Uncharted 2 threads)

I keep bumping this thread because people are responding to me. And the only thread you will see me make about Metacritic is when/if Forza 3 gets a higher score than Gran Turismo. Like I said I use it to win bets
