I'll be honest, I'm a little disappointed in the Wii. After learning it would be the lead console, I expected much from the little machine - in particular, (Japanese) third party support. The rise of handhelds (DS / PSP) probably played a big role in this, which is why I'm seeing myself play on em' now, far more than any previous gen...
Well, on to the topic. Even though it's not getting as many games as I'd like, the Wii is still my favorite console. If you look at my game library, my consoles are entirely dominated by Japanese games. This doesn't necessarily mean I prefer Japanese games to western - in fact, if I had to give a ratio in gaming playtime (Western:Japanese), it'd probably be something like 75:25 (see PC collection, some of those are massive time sinks). Even today, I game more on my PC (mainly from WoW) than all my consoles & handhelds combined.
I have a problem getting into western single player experiences (the story-driven type), something about them turns me off. I haven't played more than 3 hours of Half-Life or the CoD4 campaign, I never finish WRPGs I start (KotoR, Fable), or any GTA. Unless the game has multiplayer (Gears, Halo) or is a rare exception (Uncharted), it becomes difficult to hold my interest. This is relevant because I think the Wii has a stronger Japanese line-up.
I haven't played all of these games, but off the top of my head these are the single player games that interest me from the consoles:
Wii: Zelda:TP, Mario Galaxy, NMH, MP3, Zack & Wiki, LKS, Muramasa, Fire Emblem
360: ToVesperia, SO4, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey
PS3: Uncharted, WKS, Yakuza 3, Demon's Souls, Valkyria Chronicles
I may have a game or two missing here and there, but you'll notice I left out many high rated HD games (Mass Effect, Oblivion, Fallout, Batman, R&C, Fable, etc). It's possible I may enjoy one of these games (Bioshock in particular), but from past experiences I've had a hard time "getting into" this stuff. Perhaps one day I'll learn to appreciate these titles, but not today. I've been pretty disappointed with PS3's Japanese support, though it seems that may change in the next year.
Still, my favorite gaming experiences tend to involve multiplayer. Nintendo's has dominated in its large offering of party-friendly games since the N64, which is why I prefer the Wii - Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Wii Sports/R, Mario Strikers, some WiiWare games and soon NSMBWii will keep my company and I busy for hours. There's also tons more games like HotD that's easily worth a rent for the occasion.
On the HD consoles, I haven't found nearly as much to play with, but the 360 easily takes second with Halo, Gears, CoD, Soul Calibur 4 and Castle Crashers. The PS3 has fewer titles, with the 360 multiplats and LBP. While this sounds like a very strong list, the problem with the games (the 360 in particular) is that they aren't exactly friendly for newcomers. One cannot simply jump in and enjoy Gears, or console FPS - they are very exclusive to those who play these consoles, and for this reason I haven't played the games nearly as much as the Nintendo offerings.
I haven't commented much on the downloadable games, I've mainly just been enjoying the WiiWare. There are some 360 games I still need to try from Live Arcade (Braid, Shadow Complex), and a bunch on the PSN (Flower, Fat Princess). I'll get to it eventually, but all 3 services look great, and are probably more or less even to me overall (minus VC).
