Does PC count? If so when is the cut off?

If not:
Wii, the only true console that sticks to a console's advantages and doesn't half-ass what shouldn't be on a console to begin with. Also Wii Sports is an aphrodisiac, I swear.

i'm curious, what's the console's advantage.

Platformers and games with platforming elements, fighting, plug-and-play (bug free, no patching/installs), easy fun for several people at once, and a few others.

What is NOT an advantage is online, shooters, strategy, and some types of RPGs that are not action-y.

I understand the Wii has the platformers, but have you seen the XBL games? anayway, what fighting games does the Wii have over the HD consoles.

The PS3 has that install thing, the 360 is pretty good with that, and Live brings more people together than the Wii.

Are you so sure about that?

yes, these kids play games all day and night. The Wii brings people together on occasions and stuff.

i think that all three consoles have one-of-the-kind games.

PS3:
Metal Gear Solid 4
Uncharted 2
Killzone 2
Gran Turismo 5

---
Tekken 6(:Bloodline Rebellion)

@Carl;

Assumedly players who had fun with it, for that reason.

@KylieDog:

I still don't follow.

I don't know of anyone who ranks it amongst their fave games.

I also know of nobody who can give me reasons for it being there.

You don't have to know of anyone: sustained sales like the those enjoyed by Carnival Games tend to be fueled by word of mouth. People have been recommending it, or enjoying it on a friend's console.

The reason? Probably because they find it fun.

For fighting games, Brawl.  Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.  Both exclusives.  Downloadable classics like Street Fighter 2 Turbo, ClayFighter, all the Neo Geo tournament fighter games.  The kendo in Wii Sports Resort will probably be more popular than everything I just mentioned though.

Wii brings more people together.  You can play 8 player Bust-a-Move.  With 8 people in the same room.  For many people, that's more fun than 1000 people playing the coolest game in the world if they're all talking on headsets, and sitting alone in separate rooms.  More people prefer 4 player Mario Kart in 1 room than 12 player Mario Kart across the world.

I'll take a guess... you got here because the title says "current-gen console" and (best games)

I still refuse to believe that until i have solid proof from at least 10 people.

Get me proof. I will admit defeat.

Why not just throw in a "Must not have the words Play or Box in the consoles name" rule also?  For example a PS1 game sold on the PSN counts but not the very same actual PS1 game that will play on the PS3 anyway?  What sort of broken logic is that.

Anyway, using these broken rules I'll say PS3 since the first party games don't stay full price for 3 years, it actually had consistant good quality third party support and the Wii's VC is filled with pricing for a mug.

I don't follow. Plenty of people - a majority, I believe - have chosen one of the HD twins under these guidelines of consideration. Hell, you did.

Even with a bent Ref you can still win the match.

Is your argument that if he counted backwards compatibility, the PS3 would automatically win, so by discounting backwards compatibility he's taking away the PS3's greatest strength?  Are you implying that the best thing about the PS3 is the PS1 and PS2 libraries instead of the PS3 library?  Are you stealth trolling your favorite system?
