I think late 2011 is a given really. If MS or Sony coume out with a new console by then, Nintendo will be really pressured, as it would be 2 gens behind in terms of hardware technology, so they will of course have the new home console ready in time. Zelda should be coming in mid-late 2011, marking the end of the Wii.

Bets with Conegamer:
Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.
I see it coming in fall 2011. They'll just continue to support the current Wii through 2012 though at least IMO.
For people who want a higher end system, they'll have that option. It will be an additional profit stream for Nintendo as well.
I think actually they probably have the Wii 2 hardware 100% finished more or less right now. ATi or Nvidia could give them a 360/PS3 level chipset no problem obviously. They probably are really working on the interface.
Miyamoto said he doesn't like the Natal concept without tactile feedback, but he did express interest in that type of thing combined with a motion sensing wand controller for instance. Who knows what else they've come up with.
I don't buy it, not even the idea of a Wii that upscales.
Wii Too coming in 2011-12 folks.

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!! It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!! Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)
The Wii was designed for a 5 year life cycle which means 2011 would be the earliest year Nintendo goes HD. But with the current popularity of the Wii SD this date may be pushed back a year or two. I don't think Nintendo will have to introduce the WII HD until the competitors start to equal or surpass their sales in a significant manner. The PS3 is down 29 million units it will take a few years of Uber stellar sales EVERY MONTH just to close that gap and the 360 isn't much closer. I think Wii sales will start to slow over the next two years because its Lo-Def design will start reaching saturation but sales would have to stop today in order for the competition to surpass it during its design lifecycle so I don't see a need until 2011.
