Is boycott the right word?

Well, I'd agree with some games. I haven't seen any FFXIII footage in a while, at this point it's easy to ignore (after waiting like 3 years, what's another year). Most of these are long running franchises, like Zelda, or maybe the Team Ico game (those will be hard now that I think about it).

Most games I'd like to see footage of, though. My money is pretty limited, so I need to find out as much about games as I can in order to make my decision in what to buy. Epic Mickey, for example, may or may not be something I'm interested in. More details needed!

@ c0rd

I agree, and no boycott is ever a guarantee I will buy. I happen to usually agree with metacritic scores pretty well, so if a game scores significantly lower than I expect, I may well break up my boycott to see if it's still worth getting. Some games I just know that I must own however, which are the best ones to play as I can boycott them before we see anything from them.

And I'm looking into Epic Mickey myself, but until we know more, I won't boycott it.

Also, I couldn't think of a better word than boycott for it

The trick I've found to not being spoiler-sensitive is develop a taste for how games (and other stories) are put together: for how things flow, what the author does with their characters and setting, and so forth. These are things that plot spoilers can't really tell you, and so even if the "surprise" of the plot is gone, there is still plenty to appreciate.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

I'm setting a new standard for myself with Heavy Rain. I must not go on metacritic and see what the reviews say, but it is so goddamn hard >_

Been doing that for games, movies am anticipating for as long as i remember

If its a new IP i tend watch the first trailer (teaser) and write the game down on my notepad

and since it will be a while before the game is actually released i end up forgetting the details of what i saw, but my trusty notepad remind me that i found it interesting

When its a sequel to a game i like or its from certain developer(Kojima, Team ICO, QD..etc)

i don't need to watch any trailer coze i know am getting that game :)
