E3 is not the place for such an announcement.

E3 is the biggest "videogame-event". It shows only BIG announcements or ambitious announcements. NamcoBandai thinks bringing Tales to West is of no importance... How can they announce this localisation at E3?!?!?

You know I believe d (and bilieve!) you, but now I think this topic was only making stronger my hopes. It was better if I had never found it. :(

Well, we're in May now and nothing from them except... "We have no plans to plans to bring the game stateside.". That was late January.

Is there any more false hope to keep us believing...

This is why every JRPG developer should go screw themselves!

Bring over the damn international versions you lazy-ass bastards!

You should help yourself by trying to learn some Japanese instead of blaming it on the developers.

Japanese games don't work on American PS2s.

And millions of American's aren't going to learn Japanese and import games because developers are too damn lazy to localize a game!

Well, this thread is on ToV which I assume we are talking about the PS3 here, which does not have region lock. And then again, I don't see ToV selling millions, unlike FF which has a localized version. They did not bother to localize the game not because they are lazy, but because they feel that doing that will not make them much of a profit (which I tend to disagree in ToV's case since we already have the 360 version). But at the end of the day, it's up to them to decide whether they should localize the game or not.

If you really like JRPGs and hate missing on those not being localized, why not go learn some Japanese yourself?

Because its expensive, hard and it could be a waste of money if we don't really want to learn that language.

Personally, i would recomend to buy a Xbox 360 if you really want to play this game. The game was out for almost 2 years now and is cheap. From Namco-Bandai we never know. They could repeat the same thing that they did with Symphonia for PS2.

About the translation, it's a good point. But didn't the game on PS3 has the double scrip that Xbox 360 has and is full vouced? That means to put everyone on work again.

And dude, at least you're american. -_- Tales of Vesperia was only my third Tales Of game. Well, second because ToP for GBA was a shitty port.

I didn't think the PS3 version had that much more for a script. The new skits, voicing for the scenarios and Patty's lines... but I didn't think it was double.

Ah yes, being a PAL gamer, I know exactly what you mean. I started importing all my consoles... well, except for the PS3.

I'm sorry but the "go learn Japanese" comments, I can't take them seriously. You seriously expect people to put in the time, effort and money to learn a new language just so that they can play a video game? Come on now. That's taking this whole otaku thing way overboard. If that's what you want to do with your own time, money and effort, fine. But most people aren't that hardcore into their otakuism.

Honestly for the Tales fans who are dissapointed that the PS3 version isn't been localized, don't sweat it. Tales games are milked to all hell anyway. It's not a big deal if you miss out on a few Tales games. If you really want it bad enough, get an Xbox 360 or learn Japanese (I personally recommend the Xbox 360. It's cheaper than learning Japanese. lol. Takes a lot less effort. And you can go play the Xbox 360 exclusives now. And console exclusives if your PC isn't that good). But seriously, it's not going to kill you if you don't get to play this game in a language you understand. It's one game out of hundreds, thousands of games you'll be playing in your lifetime.

What is so funny?

Make me laugh too, please.

If you can't laugh at this scenario what else can you do?

Kamal can you tell us the real story now?

@guts

what was the point in necro bumping this thread?

We KNOW its not happening now!

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Yes, we're at the end of May... And nothing from them, except them from months ago saying, "no plans to release it".

And as someone from 'Abyssal Chronicles' pointed out...
The german retailer that had the release date for ToV PS3 has recently taken it down.

Well, at least we can now start hoping that Tales of Graces gets localised...

I want to apologise to Kamal for doubting him. It seems as if he was telling the truth. Here is video footage of Troy Baker saying pretty much what he told Kamal.

The audio is pretty bad but it starts at around 5:24

Sounds like Namco Bandai may have been intending to release it but changed their mind or perhaps there is a very slim chance we have to wait a little longer (although seems doubtful at this pointful).

I'm still counting on it.

Finally, there definitive proof I wasn't lying.

I was that guy who asked, finally my name can't be tarnished anymore!
