Actually those PS3 dongles are WiFi I thought...not Bluetooth.

Not that it matters...who cares about dongles...it's not like you're staring at your console while you play games...and to me, it doesn't matter if it's Bluetooth or whatever...as long as I can move around and stand a max of 20 feet away from the console...I wouldn't need to be much farther than that.

Yeah it is a WiFi solution, I didn't type my comment right. It is good that it doesn't matter for you, and while I agree that you don't look at your console, you do want it to be synched at all times. Bluetooth connections can be synched much easier than a WiFi signal. Synching a Wifi signal is harder, and chances of desynch are greater. I wasn't talking about the distance because you probably will always be within 5 meters from the console anyway.

IF there was a need for high throughput, the WiFi solution would be the obvious choice. Not with the data rates that Guitar heros needs though.

i'm still not sure...

wii has rumble, speaker, costs ten buck less, and (for me) no batteries since i have the wii recharger.

xbox has dlc, a bit better graphics, and i can play GH2 (which i still don't own, horray for friends!)

i'm definetly getting GH3 but i'm still torn on which version.

Wii. I am getting it with one Guitar for $75 (including shipping). I will get GH4 and the guitar that comes with it. I'll likely DL a couple packets for GH4 and never buy another version. 140+ songs sounds like enough to me :)

currently playing: Desktop Tower Defense (PC), Puzzle Quest (DS), Trauma Center New Blood (Wii), Guitar Hero III (Wii), Ghost Squad (Wii), Actraiser (SNES), Donkey Kong County (SNES), The Legend of Zelda (NES), Kirby's Adventure (NES)

will play next: Paper Mario (N64), Golden Axe II (Sega), NiGHTS (Wii)

Wii.

Has it been confirmed that there is no downloadable content for the Wii version?  Last I heard, it was "there will be no downloadable content initially."

Gah...I hope you're not one of those people that tell me to "go play a real guitar!"...because those people completely miss the fun of the game...

Agreed, Mr. Kenobi.  My brother is an excellent guitarist, and he absolutely loves Guitar Hero.  I'm a keyboard guy, and I love the game as well.

Admittedly, though, we still can't get our guitar playing father to enjoy the Guitar Hero series.

I've pre-ordered the Wii version, but since I only have a Wii, there's not much of a choice. :)

I'm also a real guitarist, but I don't understand where all the hate comes from for this game from some guitarists. It's meant to be fun, don't take things so seriously...

i thought the 360 controllers had to be wired and the PS3 controllers were wireless blue tooth. and they both cost the same with DLC being offered. is that the case, or am i thinking of Rock band.
I might be thinking of rock band- which if you want to play with more than just one person is by far the better game.
Do people realize the makers of GH1 and GH2 are making Rockband.
And GHIII is being made by someone else.
Just thought I would share,
And if i was getting it, which i still might in addition to rockband- it would be the PS3 version.
