Infinity Ward: We Don't Need Next Gen

Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling says there's always a way to shatter the glass ceiling...
Speaking exclusively with NowGamer, Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling confessed that there's plenty of life left in the current crop of consoles and that the company is in no hurry to leap to a new generation of technology.
"I think you can always take a console further." says Bowling "It’s all about hitting that glass ceiling but then finding ways to break through it. When we finished Call Of Duty 4, when we were done with it, we thought we’d hit that glass ceiling, but then, as you can see with Modern Warfare 2, we've found ways around it. We introduced texture streaming which allows you to do this and that opens up more doors, so we may not know it yet, but there is definitely much more you could do [with the current generation]."
“The biggest thing you struggle with is space”
When asked if reaching that glass ceiling ever leaves the developer yearning for more powerful tech instead of simply finding ways around it, he responds: "No, not yet. I mean, the biggest thing you struggle with is space. Our engineers have been finding new ways around that. If you can beat that, you’re still in good shape."
Whether he is ambiguously referring to disc space, memory and other space constraints, we'll leave for you to ponder. Certainly if it's the former, his statement really only applies to one console platform. Yikes!
